Classes
Is there a class that a 1966 mustang could run in. I sent an email to the fun ford people last month but they have not gotten back to me yet.

With the '66, you'd pretty much be restricted to the bracket classes although there have been exceptions recently (a '65 ran in Outlaw at Commerce). With your list of mods you'd be best suited for the Street Ford class. DOT tires, through mufflers, no electronics.

Would I be restrcited to any engine sizes because I am currently putting in a 302 but plan on a 351 in the next couple of years?

Nope, no restrictions on engine size or modifications. The only requirements are DOT tires, thru-mufflers and no electronics. Street Ford is run in your typical bracket format, no break-out, .500 sportsman tree.

I'm new to the drag racing brackets so will have to help me out here. Street is all I have ever messed with. By you saying no electronics; are you talking like no MSD which is what I have or having to use stock componet? Also, no break-out, .500 sportsman tree? I don't understand? If you could enlighten me or direct me to a site with all the info. I appreciate this. Thanks.

For the basics of drag racing, you could check out something like www.staginglight.com or search for drag racing sites on-line. Or better yet, just go out to your local track one evening and spectate.
By 'no electronics', they mean no delay boxes, cross-over boxes, down-track throttle stops, and other mechanisms that give an unnatural advantage towards consistency. Depending on the track, it may also extend to line-lok devices, transbrakes and two-steps.
