tire pressure on ZR's

Some customer (Eliah) said that he runs his Bridgestone Re 730 225/60/ZR16's at 25psi in the rear. Is this safe? effective? Thanks

I forgot to mention that my ZR's are 50 series and not 60's. This makes a difference, right?

the only difference between your tire being a 50 and his being a 60, I'm guessing you mean 225/50/16 vs. 225/60/16 is that the side walls on your tires are a little bit shorter. Which translates in to less side wall roll. Meaning if you should go into a hard turn your tires will roll onto the side wall less and they will keep more of the tread on the road where it belongs. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

It is not good for everyday driving on 25 lbs of air on your ZR rated tires. These tires are very expensive and with the soft compound most ZR tires are made from I would not recommend it. It is safe for the dragstrip though. I use to run 27 lbs on mine at the track and when I get home its back to 40 lbs if it is a 44 max PSI tire or 32 when it is a 35 PSI max Tire.
