The stock control arms are a real limitation. The rubber bushings are way too compliant. Get rid of them and use something like the Megabite Jrs or Factory Five arms. You don't say what gear you're running, but with the AOD I'd hope its at least a 4.10, preferrably a 4.30. You should be able to get your short time down between 1.60 and 1.70 with the 26x8.5 slick.

I would look at your pinion snubber. If you are hitting it, remove it. I picked up .04 in my 60ft time by doing this. I like the southside lowers.

I use the Factory five http://factoryfive.com Upper/Lower combination (greasable, poly, tubular) and Slot Car Racing http://www.slotcarracing.com lower control arm brakets to lower the rear control arm for increased anti-squat. No quad shocks, no snubber, no wheel hop. I do use a rear sway bar. No 60' times, but my 3 & 4th gear tire spin went away.
