Trophy Stock Rules Questions... -->>

George,

I'm getting back into 'stock' type racing, and have a few questions for you. It appears that I'm going to have to choose which series I want to build my car to (FFW or NMRA), as each have significantly different rules.

Are full-length headers permitted in Tropy Stock?

Will the no-porting rule still be in place next year?

Any chance of changing the .500 lift rule to a 16" vacuum rule?

Thanks for you time...

There are no plans to change the header rule to permit long tube headers, ported heads or the .500" lift cam rule. This class has the most cars with the closest points spread of all of the Showdown classes. Why mess up a good thing?

Thanks for the reply, and helping me make up my mind.

Best of luck.

Hey George. Ijust wanted to say that leaving the rules the same for next year is smart. Everyone I have talked to is in favor of it. The fastest guys like Larry, Jeff, Kevin, bruce, Etc. can only get so much faster. Once the rest of us get or combinations finished or ironed out,it is only a matter of time before we catch up with them. Then the class will be like NHRA Pro-Stock racing. Very close qualifing and even closer racing. This year has had some very exciting and surprising races. Next year will only be better.

Absolutely correct Joe. I couldn't have said it better myself. I've been racing in T/S for four years now and this has far and away been the best season we've ever had. The racing has been tight, the points race even tighter and when in the past have you ever seen full fields qualified in T/S. Keep 'em the same (except for maybe the weight) and we're bound to have an even better year in 2000.
