Post Tubular K-member in T/S?

Is a tubular K-member allowed in Trophy Stock? I have one that uses stock arms and regular springs(no coil-overs). With the possibility of a weight reduction, I need all the help I can get with a sn-95. Thank you.

George Klass will have to confirm, but as I read the rules the tubular K-member would be allowed as long as >>stock<< A-arms are used. Coil-overs are definitely out. I've thought about this many times as a means of shifting my weight from the front to the rear. I'd think the tubular K-member has got to be worth about 20-30 pounds.

Hey Jeff,

I weighed the stock one on my 95 Cobra - 62 lbs. The tubular one weighs 22 lbs.

Thanks for the response.

You are 100% correct Jeff. You better check with George to see if it is legal. I just checked the rule book and it really didn't say. The only thing was the usual "Modifications not listed are not permitted." so your guess is as good as mine. Let me know what the final word is so I know what to do about my car for next year. Remember Jeff,"Maximum of 50% of total car weight, with driver, permitted on rear tires."

Sorry, tubular K-members are not permitted in T/S.

OK, wrong call on my part. Thanks George. Actually, I was hoping to have all of next year's competition disqualified for tubular K-members so that I could cake-walk into the season championship. Damn.

Just goes to prove that you should always check with George!
