went to track......I'M HOOKED!

ok went to the track last night for the first time, and i was scared as heck at first! the first run i did, i let my auto do all the work. i ended up with a 15.45 at 88.72 and a r/t of .847. my second run i did the shifting and ran a 15.1 at 92.51 and a r/t of .562. but my third was the best for me, a 14.97 at 94.67 and a r/t of .649
i am now in the process of swapping out the stock 2.73's for a better ratio in hopes of a low 14 second time!
all i can say now is I'M HOOKED!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the world of Mustang racing! Its a drug, very addictive, that will hopefully last a lifetime. Sell the wife, kids and house, 'cause it only gets more expensive from here! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

Man,

I cant wait to hit the track, I think the next legal race is in early october. Especially since i almost got arrested for street racing, heh heh, i guess i took one for the sport huh?

What im kinda spooked about are my Reaction times, those dahm lights go on pretty fast, lol, anyways, as soon as i can pass tech im racing! What sucks about the street is that you dont know your times.

If you're bracket racing on a sportsman tree, you'll get the rythm of the lights coming down. It really helps to stand up near the starting line, right at the fence, and watch a whole bunch of cars leave. You'll get a three-beat rythm going on the lights and it won't seem nearly as quick. Now if you're racing on a .400 pro tree, that's a different story....just go at the flash of any light! I'd rather race on a pro tree anyday.

I am so jealous, I haven't even been down the track yet. I am still working on gettung my car together. I have practiced on both trees and I like the bracket tree better. Maybe thats my lack of experience, but I think it's alot easier to start on. But regardless I am so jealous.
