Default 00 m3 goes down...

yesterday on my way to college i was driving down rt 55 in Pk and all of a sudden a newer m3 gets up on my tail so i was doing about 50 so i decided to downshift into 3rd (should have went to 2nd) and he stayed with me a lil bit then i pulled a lil (saw his head lights gettin smaller) got to a light and he nodded his head no as if his car was faster so i nodded my head yes real fast cause i knew my car could move better then his, so finally i let traffic move ahead then pointed foward and he nodded yes.

so i counted down from 3-2-1-GO! ( i was in 2nd gear at 3k rpms and about 40 mph) BBBBBWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA my car is pullin on him( about a car length) i hit 3rd and waved bye bye and got about another car length then shut down at the top of 3rd to slow down.

we talked after a lil and, hes alright but all the excuses came out about the car from being an auto, to low of a rpm for him, to weighing about 4000 lbs, but if he beat my car it would have been different...so then why nod that you're ready? oh well i pulled on him $45,000 car hes got a friend with an 02 m3 and i want to race him from a stop and i told him too if he wanted to go from a stop that i wouldnt mind either ( i got nittos on back) it was fun though to pull on the car, made me feel proud to own a mustang

I saw a M3 auto at the track last week. It went 14.30's@95. Not very impressive for a $40,000 car. And you traping 106mph, no wonder he did not stand a chance. Way to go

Nice kill I had a race with one of those when I first got my Cobra. Me and him were at the gas pumps, He finished filling up before me and sat in his car waiting on me. I thought to myself you got to be kidding me no way this guy wants to race. When I pulled out to leave he was right behind me. We went from a 30mph roll and I was shocked when we were side by side all the way through 2nd gear, As soon as I shifted to 3rd I pulled about a half a car on him.

Those cars are real sleepers.

Only the '03 M3's run low 13s stock, and they cost more like $60K. They have dual exhaust with dual tips, other than that I don't know how to tell them from previous years. The older ones only had like 245hp.

Vinny, those cars can't weigh that much, the 2003s only weigh about 3400 lbs, but they sure get a lot of power out of their Inline-6's, i mean 333 @ 7900 revs ain't bad, this site has the info on the 2003 M3s, you just have to click on the "Technical Data" section BMW America M3

Thanks dark5_0 -it took a lil bit and the right car to do it too but i finally got it done. been tryin to make a fast car since i was 17 (now im 20) finally got a count to on my wins, its about 27 cars now. (made a list on paper)

EZRID- the z28s and SS's and WS6s are the only cars that really give me a decent race now a days along with the new vettes. unless its like a turbo Supra or turbo rx7, but i could normally beat them out the hole then they gotta spool up (with them big turbos) top end they'll pass me.

RiceHater- i didnt believe it either that that car was that heavy, and yes they do do very well for a inline 6.

got another kill tonight too, raced my friends 98 cobra with a cold air intake, 373 gears, cobra Rs (bigger tires in back) springs, shocks and a shifter. he wanted to go from a light so i spun my nittos a lil to clean them (about 1 sec spin) then looked over at him and he was smiling so i knew it was game, so im staging my car at 1500 rpms and finally light turns green and i see me and him come out the hole for a split second then pulled in 1st gear speed shifted 2nd, pulled some more and just kept on pulling, at the end of it all i had about 8-9 cars on him and he's a good driver too,(heard his tires grab 2nd idk about 3rd cause i was to far ahead )

so then he got up next to me and were talkin about how much fun it was with the rush and so on, then i know he wanted to go from the roll, another 40 mph so i go from 5th to 3rd, ( i heard his flows flowin so i knew he wanted some) then he tapped the gas, gave him a sec, then i downshifted to 2nd and i heard his car do the same, BWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAA goodbye!! lol it was fun to fool around, i love his car the way it looks and sounds, bada$$.

my next race should be a vert 03 cobra with exhaust, i dont think i have enough in me but ill find out, if i pull him out the hole i should have him but if its even, i feel that he should pull on me, my friend matts going to tape it so i should have that one to post.

Nice kill but dont think badly of the M3. that car will kill you at auto x. And he is stock. If you dont think so then go to one and see. then you will see why the car costs that much. the BMW M cars are sick. Dont get me wrong it was a good kill but I think that you should know It isnt a drag car.

If it isnt a drag car then he shouldnt be drag racing. As far as I could tell this guy wanted to drag race his car and he got his @ss handed to him.
My cobra is more suited to the twisties as well but when I drag race and lose all that comes outta my mouth is good race.
Try and keep the ricey comments in the Honda forum.

theorysofspeed,

Give me a break. A car that costs that much should be a hell of a lot quicker in a straight line, too. Also, I don't remember you explaining why they cost so much like you mentioned...

Subway LMAO ..........Yeah I eat there sometimes. Trust me man I didnt flame you, I could do way better than that if flaming you was my purpose.

The whole my car would smoke you on on an Auto x track is getting old.

A F-150 4X4 can smoke a 03' cobra if the guy in the truck gets to pick the track but what would be the point in that?

Well I gotta go I have subs to make.

Default '00 M3

The '00 M3 had only 240 hp. The big boost in hp came in '02 with the 3.2L/333hp version. I raced an earlier ('00-01) M Roadster back when I had 351W heads (13.97/100.3 1/4 mile) and ran even with him to 80 or so on the steet. My bet is that the 240 hp versions of M3's run at best 14.0 in the 1/4 at 95-100.

Was '97 Supra' a typo? They stopped selling them here before that.
