And like Cheby High Performance doesnt exagerate their times:

Especially when the LS1s came out...

Thats why I don't trust or quote Magazine numbers:) They were not as bad as MM&FF however

Forget the magazines for a min.

I have seen 3 cobras now at the track running 111mph plus in BONE STOCK FORM. BTW More traction doesnt equal more MPH aquaman.

Do you really think these cars are going 103-105mph? This is about where stock N/A Cobras were doing. Thats ridiculous. There are a bunch of shitty drivers out there, but 103-105mph, no way.

We can speculate on this all day, but the fact of the matter is the car is heavy, and 360rwhp is is about 112mph in that car. We'll see some faster ones and some slower ones.

Aqua, my car still seems run a better ET :o than yours with over 40less rwhp., my sarcsam is pointed at your constant attack and complaining about the 03 cobra. Frankly I'm tired of it. We've discussed it plenty, now your just bitching. Is it underrated at 390hp? I dont think so. I think everyone agrees it has it. Does it turn 12s from the factory? With the right driver yes. Does it go 11's w/ a few mods, with the right driver yes. Have they gone 103mph and 14seconds? With the right driver yes. I think you get what I am saying.

You come on "MUSTANGWORKS" and continually complain about mustangs, c'mon man, get over it. A good discussion is what I'm looking for.

BTW the one at the track last time I went did 111mph in 2400ft density altitude, bone stock.

A Friend of mines just dynoed 372rwhp w/ just a K/N Filter.

I saw a guy with a viper GTS that couldn't break out of the 13's, I guess those vipers are overrated
And for the record, MM&FF got 17 RWHP from pulling the silencer, not 40. I guess the GM mags are the model for the integrity of automotive journalism.

You took the words right out of my mouth. You know...Nothing can touch the LS-1. Even if it beats one...It cant touch it.

And sure Aquaman your car may run such and such in your area, but that Cobra is in another place another area..And something else to consider....Its another Person driving.

For example...All this talk of 12 sec stock LS-1 Fbods....Ummm..Well, not in Fayetteville. Last Thursday, the fastest one I saw (And there were several) was a 14.04 (2001 WS-6 TA), and that was from my Ex Girl-Friend. My fastest time was 14.015 (Not launching...Straight of idle..in 102 degree weather with 100 percent humidity, and a burned out Limited Slip). So, a car running a low 13 on such a crappy day would be awesome.

Oh, on that same night, a newer Viper ran the best of a 12.8.

Damn ya'll are making it hard for me to be nice:)

If 99% of Viper's from around the midwest, Eastcoast, Central plains, West coast, Southwest were unable to bust out of the 13's then you would by all means have every right to feel as if they were over rated. the 6 cars I have seen run were at 5 different tracks in 4 different states in varying weather conditions. That is what is refered to as deductive reasoning. Studies have proven that you have to have an I.Q. of over 109 to fully comprehend the process.

As for my thinking that the GM mags are the model of integrity? Have you read any of my posts?????......Yes you must have since your quoting me. So where the hell did I say or insinuate that a GM mag or any mag for that matter has integrity? I didn't, Just the opposite actualy. So if you want to make things up and put words in my mouth fine. But I do have to say that the common misconception that ignorance is bliss is obviously alive and well in your household.

Merc. - Back with this same crap again eh? Yeah cars will run varying times from track to track and day to day but not by a 1.4 second margin. I.E. my old 89 Vette ran a besst of 13.7@103 on a 66` day with about 55% humidity in Cincinnati 750' above sealevel at that track. At Firebird in Phoenix It ran a 13.9@101 on a 109 degree night W/ 37 % humidity 1152' above. In Houston on a 103` day with 98% humidity I ran 13.9@101 (damn you for making me dig that crap up:mad: ) 211' above

Now I understand that running in the rockies at 5000' and up will cause a N/A car to fall on it's face but the cars I have seen run are not in the rockies and they are not all driven by crappy drivers and they didn't all miss shifts and yes your right all LS1's run 14.0's where you are in fact the fastest ones are the one's with mechanical failures. Because we all know how stupid and ignorant the F-Bod owners are right:rolleyes: So if you have never seen LS1's run faster then 14's and you now believe that as gospel, why do you not understand why I believe the 03 to be a 104-106 trap car stock because thats all I've seen? And I'm not going off 1 state and 1 track or 1 night like yourself Mine are quite spreadout. Not to mention what Friends and family have seen run at even more tracks with even more varying conditions.

I don't see you complaining when MM&FF tested the SS and got 12 second times. Instead you're like "See, even MM&FF got 12s out of the SS, it's fast" But when it comes to Mustang numbers they're unbelievable...

Kevin Price 07-24-2002 09:02 AM

I was impressed, that's all I was saying. It was a breath of fresh air from the 14-15 second stockers from just the past few years.

This one is getting run in the dirt however.
