'02 GT Drop top Vs. '94 Cobra
Over at my friend nathan's house checkin out the Cobra that I am in the process of buying. It has gears, exhuast, diablo chip, Pro-M 80mm, lowering springs, adj, shocks, and a shifter. He has a friend come over with a '02 GT 5 spd. drop top with just a SLP cat back.
Nathan is driving the Cobra and his friend is driving the GT. 2 runs from 30 roll with the Cobra starting in 2nd at around 2800 rpms, and the GT in its powerband in 1st. 1st run the Cobra takes him by half a car. 2nd run the race is dead even. Then nathan drives the GT with me driving the Cobra. 1st run i start in first and blow the tires off through 2nd and the GT pulls 2 cars and holds that lead to 100. Next run we go from about 25 mph which is 2500 rpms in 2nd. The GT pulls a car right off. I click 3rd and the GT is out about 1 1/4 cars and holds it to 100. Last run from 30 the GT jumps out 1 car and holds it. Nathan is a great driver and i can drive pretty good. The GT I think won just because the GT started in his power band. Thought I would share.

The outcome is surprising. I figured the cobra with gears and exhaust would win easily.

Yea we were all confused and surprised. Yesteday nathan drove a '02 GT coupe against the Cobra (with someone else driving), and the Cobra slowly pulled the GT coupe which had gears and exhuast.
So the conv must be a factory freak.
