10.77 in a 1.5L naturaly aspirated honda!

10.77@123.2mph

Its the new world record. Done with a 1.5L SOHC non-vtec Dserie engine! In a CRX of course. But atleast he doesnt have a swap (CRX had those engines from the factory).

Of course I have no timeslip to post ;)

Dark_5.0 11-18-2002 03:27 PM

I have a 1.5Ldx CRX with all the bolt-ons, exhaust, header etc... and it is still a turd. I used to have the V-tec crap on it but it kept over heating.

I tried to make power with the 1.5L N/A but it just wasnt happening.

That is an awesome ET no matter what engine he has in it:eek:

I'm impressed:cool:

Special K 11-18-2002 03:29 PM

I bet he is running crazy compression!

Dark_5.0 11-18-2002 04:23 PM

With a 00' V-tec head on my 1.5L block I was making 11 to 1 compression. The car sounded like a chainsaw and overheated. I would like to have more details to see how the H3LL he achieved that ET.

It wasn't his car. Would you let someone run off with your 10.xx slip?

I'll give the Honda's the credit of being very quick when they are turbo'd and intercooled. If they are done right they can move. I'm curious to see that 10sec CRX. =) I want to know what he has done to it! :D

§am.

Special K 11-19-2002 01:23 PM

Yeah... found the pictures! :D As you can see its not a street car! ;)

Thats one Bad @ss 4 banger. He has 4 Throttle bodies and one H3LL of a custom header. It probably only ways 1400 lbs or so.

I wouldnt mind taking it down the 1/4 once or twice;)

I hope you put your stock cams back in before you put the turbo on. The CTR cams are the worse factory cams you could have in a turbo charged application. They have far too much overlap and even with adjustable cam gears, they are very difficult to adjust to get max power. The stock cams will get you a lot more power despite the lower lift.

srv1 11-19-2002 09:00 PM

aree those sidedrafts i see? if so, i was going to do that to my 22r but didnt have $900 to spare!!

The Deuce 11-19-2002 09:33 PM

Was that time corrected, or did he really run 10.77 at Fomoso? That track sucks balls. Not to start a controversy, I just noticed the Clay Smith Banner and the post that says "KERSFIELD" is missing the BA. No really, it is.:D

Special K 11-20-2002 02:25 PM

Yeah im trying to sell the cams right now. The thing is that I sold my stock cams last year so I need to find some... :(

slow98 11-20-2002 10:14 PM

word of advice

do not ever sell you factory equipment!!!even if you just chang the muffler or somthing keep the stock one, always keep ur stock stuff, your probably not gonna have that car forever and when it comes time to get rid of it your gonna be wishing you hung on to that stuff...

peace
