2001 GT - best starter mods?

Hello all

I just traded my 97 GT Conv for a 2001 GT Conv, and am interested in learning about modifications to start with.

Logically, it would seem that starting off with adding a supercharger or a turbo kit, or anything similar, is not the best idea.

I say 'logically' because I assume there would be issues in jumping from stock to over 350+ HP without knowing if the underlying system can handle it.

So what are some good starter modifications that will improve performance to the car, while slowly letting me build toward an overall goal of 350+ HP? (i just pull the 350 number out of air BTW)

I was damn tempted to buy a 2001 Cobra from the same lot, but they wouldn't give me the deal I wanted on it, and it wasn't my first choice of color.
