$225,000 vs $10,000
Well I am going to line up with a brand new modded 911 TT Porsce at the street races this weekend.
It supposedly put out 600 hp someone said, but who knows. The guy won the LOTTO and hes a pretty nice guy, he says he has 225k in the car, but its got a crazy stereo and all kinds of other wild stuff too. Its AWD, but I will race on SLICKS. Im hoping if I can put enough distance out of the hole on him I might have a chance. Ill be squeezing 150 shot, so how fast do these go in the 1/4? Skyler

I think they run mid 12's Sky, but if you're running mid 12's on the motor, the the 150 shot should nail him. Did I understand your sig correctly , 12's on the motor?

A modded Porsche Turbo? I'd say they run high 11's with an average driver.

I love Porsche's. One of the best enginering. 6 cly. engines with that much power. They are H6 which are crazy on how they get lots of power, + twin turbo'd the one your racing. If he is modded then it may be a tough one, and he is awd so I don't know if you'll pull him off the line.
Good Luck, & remember there is no shame loosing to a Porsche. §am.

$225,000?!?! I would race this guy just for the fun of it. Who knows, maybe you'll be able to pull something out. I can believe that this guy has 600hp due to the fact that he states he has that kind of money invested in the car. Either way, I think you are in for a tough race -- whether he is modded or not. 911 TT trap in the 116-120mph range if I remember correctly (unmodified).
I think you will have a good advantage racing w/ slicks against his AWD stock tires. With a good launch, you should put a few cars on him to start. The question is, will he be able to run you down? Let us know how it turns out! Good luck! |

WOW!!!! I had no idea those things had that much HP! Unreal out of a 6 clyinder.
Either way, it should be a good race. Plus you "saved" over $200,000. E PS - What do you plan on doing with all that money you saved???

I don't know, slicks and a 150 shot. That's a big boost. I just hope you don't break anything! I think it will be close. I hope you kick some arse man!

Yeah defiinitly good luck. I've seen some low modded porsches run unbelievable in 1/4 times. It's just not fair...Well..although..i guess if mustangs were 250k Just think how fast they would be..hehe. Well at least your not racing one of the new Porsche Gt2's. They're told to be the fastest out of the factory production car , everywhere, i think. At least thats what the Car & Driver mag said. Oh well, GL with everything anyways.
Oh yeah...I figured a good combo for easy HP. 150 Shot of Nos at 2500rpms then your supercharger kicks in at 3k. So that'd be whatever your stock power is, plus the Nos shot, plus %50 of everything from the charger..heheh..Your engine might not live through it though.... sadly Rosco

If he really has 600hp, you are wasting gas even going to race him. I am sure that he isn't using some bias ply tires either....to get 600hp down to the ground takes decent tires.

Those cars run solid 12s stock with 400 or 450 hp. If he can launch that thing it could be high 10s to low 11s with 600 hp.

Upon further reflection, I think he's going to smoke you off the line. It doesn't take much skill to launch an AWD car...you basically tach it up and dump the clutch.
The beauty of this matchup, though, is it's a win-win situation for you even if you lose. If you put up a good fight, you prove that a $10K 'Stang is almost as fast as a quarter-million dollar Porsche. If he smokes you...so what? He's out $225,000. |

I'm pretty sure that Car&Driver drove a stone stock one to a 12.0@116 (420hp turbo S) so if this thing really has 600 HP any yokel could probably get 10's out of it.
I don't think you're gonna win this one. The biggest thing I'd be weary of is a novice driver with that much HP losing control and taking you down with him.

Sky, try to find out more about his car. It might be a RUF Porsche 911 TT. I think "RUF" is the German equivalent of "Saleen" for Porsche. They probably added larger turbos or something, but I know you'll beat him. I HATE rich guys. Especially regular guys that hit the Lotto and become rich guys. Rip him a new one and sing "God Bless America" when you win!

Yeah, Im expecting to loose, but were just racing for fun anyways.
A friend of mine watched him race before and he said that the car didnt launch as good as he thought it would for AWD, but who knows. We will find out this saturday. I figure my car will go atleast mid 11's, so if he can't hook or launch on the street I will have a chance. Skyler

Make sure you spray VHT on the street where you will launch, and get the tires nice and warm. On the street I can blaze my ET Streets easily.
It sounds like it should be a good, close race. |

I so hope u roast him,I know it is not like racing a porsche but I raced my buddys 94 twin turbo rx-7[he was talking mad crap saying how I'd get killed cause he has more horsies]I beat him by 2 car lengths and now he will not race me again, he just says he'd smoke me and there is no point in racing. It just goes to show you it's all in the driver,if the car is powerful and the driver sucks then the car will suffer the same fate as the driver HIMMULATION[screw the spelling,I'm tired]

RUF
Nitrous al- your right RUF is the Porche's Saleen or Roush
Skyman-Watchout for the launch a dodge Stealth R/T with somewhere in 300 HP will have a 60' of like 1.7(gotta love that AWD), but bottum line is even with all the stuff he has done to his car its going to be a drivers race, also whatch out for the GTX, they might get smart and drop in the all to famous 426 Hemi Steven
