5.0 vs. 90's Vette

Im in the car with my mom of all people. We're stopped at a stoplight on a two lane road when this early 90's purple Vette pulls up next to me. It's a guy in his fifties. I rev it at him and he just gves me a wierd look. The light goes and he was actually trying to race so we both punch it. He had just his nose in front of me through first and second. As soon as i put it in third it was all over. He just got farther and farther behind me. I thought this was kinda wierd cause all i had on my car was 3.73's and pulleys. It was wierd but it made me love my mustang even more.

Good kill, Someof those early 90's vettes are not very quick. But any vette kill is a good kill in my book.

My Mom would never let me race with her in the car.

Good kill,an early corvette weighs only around 3200 pounds, and even though it has only 245hp it has 345tq.If on the other hand you would have met a ZR1 corvette of the same year, those weigh alittle more, around 3400-3500 pounds i forgot. But come with 380hp and 370tq factory.Old people usually don't look at those things. They would drive a corvette even if they knew someone swapped a stock b16 honda engine in there,as long as it's a corvette. ;)

Oldies?

I wouldn't generalize about "oldies" too much. Some of us understand hp/torque and hp/wt ratios and are performance nuts of long standing. I've surprised a few folks at the stop light and at the track more than once, hee, hee. It was fun as always.
