'89 vert vs 196* Nova

One of my friends has an old Nova w/ a 283, weiand stealth, cam, th350, most of which he just got in, so we decided to line em up outside town (me in my '89 gt AOD vert, all stock 2.73's). so we get lined up, do a couple of burnouts (for the crowd) and go. he had me bad off the line wich suprised me since I've got more torque (must be gears, I've got 3.73's in my shop...) so i was even with his back wheel through 1st. I shuffle through second@only 5k , catch him, pull away, and by the time I shut down @ 3500 in third, I'm coasting and still pulling away, by about 3 cars. I know we're both slow, but it was a good race, & my first so, what the hell.

cool, most of my races have been against minivans and SUV's, so you've got one up against me.
Actually i raced a late 80's camaro with my zephyr but i lost when he realized we were actually racing. (now i know what it's like to have a rice burner...but without the wing or stickers)

get them gears in and he wont touch you !!
