Question Decoding ID info 90 LX coupe

I want to start collecting all the info I can about my 90 LX coupe. The car appears to be in completely stock form which helps. I have found a Id tag on the axle, I will have to remove it to get all the #s due to rusting. The drivers door has a sticker with some codes. Where do I find the engine #s and does ford put a build sheet in the cars somewhere like Chevy does? Actually Chevy never intended those sheets for the customers but over 90% of the cars have them "somewhere" in the car as assembly workers stuffed them in various parts as they headed for their final destination car. If Fords have them too I would like to find it. This car will be a driver for a while but I will restomod it for sure as I go along.

I have the Ford reference book. If you tell me which #'s or letters you want to know about I will post what they are. You don't have to remove the tag on the axle because the axle code is also on the door sticker.

Cool, I am finishing up my clutch job tomorrow. I'll copy down the info and post it. I am hoping to find it has 3.08 and track lock in the 8.8 I saw a code on the tag with the first digit not intelligable and 73 after. Hoping it is not 2.73. Do all 5.0's come with trac lock?

There is also a tag between the radiator and bumper support that has codes on it. It is hard to see and read because it is painted the same as the car. There is a chart that explains what everything means but I do not remember where I saw it.

There is a site for Mustang GT's to decode vin/door tag numbers. I am pretty sure it will work for LX's also. Go to http://www.mustanggt.org/main.htm
then choose "Interactive vin/doortag decoder" in the pull down menu. After that select your year and it will prompt you how to decode your door tag and vin number.
