Arrow Which gasoline does your baby drink?

I always put Amoco clear 93 octane in my baby and once in a while I'll use Chevron.

Which do you find better for your car?
What should we stay away from?

Sinclair nonoxygenated 93 octane usually.

I hope you have your timing advanced to justify using premium. If not, you're just wasting money and fouling your plugs. That 160* thermostat probably makes it worse forcing you to run rich all of the time.

Does the Z28 have the ability to adjust timing according to what octane you're using? My friend's Corvette supposedly did that. I'm not sure if I believe it, though.

Mobil 93 Octane for mine.

Had problem before with Chevron so I stay away from them.

Before my Chip, Formula Shell 87 Octane

After Chip Formula Shell 91 Octane with STP Octane Boost (needs 92 Octane or better to run smooth and the best gas I could find in Edmonton was 91 Octane )

I usually go for the cheapest
gas around since it cost so
much. But for the last 2
weeks I have been using
mid-grade b/c the citgo near
lowes moter speedway has it
for 1.32/gallon. where
everywhere else it is 1.39
for regular. So why not go
with the better. Plus since
we advanced the timing she
has been pinging a little.

94 Thunderbird SC: only mod is a K&N air filter. But she runs very well and hard.

I have run 87 in my stock 90 forever, never had any problems. The sunoco near me has 87, 89, 91, and 93. Very nice once I start doing some work. For all you people who are putting premium in a stock motor w/o timing bumped up, its a waste. I one time saw some guy putting 91 in his, what looked to be stock, accord. And this guy didn't look like one to mess with his engine either. Some people.

All last summer I didn't run anything but Sunoco 104 octane GT+ race fuel. However, I had my EEC calibrations so agreesive, even in street trim with 10 lbs of boost, that I had to. I'm redoing my street calibration this spring so I can safely run 92 to 94 octane. At the track, I run C16 race fuel and have a completely different EEC calibration. Oh yeah, and I change blower pullies and run 16 to 18 lbs of boost.

I run 87 Octane because I hear there is no benefit to having higher octane without aditional upgrades...

IS THAT TRUE...

I pulled a 13.69 with 87 octane on a 2000GT (stock)... could my car run a 13.5 with higher octane?

100 octane in the summer (actually 2/3 100 1/3 93) and the opposite in the winter. Runs like a dream. I go to Citgo for the gas in my convertible. As for the 69 I run 120 octane I get when ever I go to the little airport near my town or race track. Because leaded is the best.

P.S. Its nice to see Dan actually posting to a thread.
P.S.S. Nice shirts! I got both of them a couple days ago. It said via UPS but it came us mail... hahahah, you tried huh?

Nothing but Sunoco Ultra 94 octane since my '90 rolled off the lot (new) 11 years and 109,000 miles ago.
Never had a problem with fouled injectors, plugs or pinging (@ 16 degrees initial timing). Works for me.

Cool

Sunoco 93 since I bumped the timing to 14*. The last tank for winter storage is 87 octane with fuel stablizer and a bottle of fuel injection cleaner.

My baby drinks Isomil...oh...you mean my car?? 92 octane 76...I might have to use C16 so I can be a little more aggressive with my timing for the track but then I won't want to use anything less for the street...don't want to keep messing with the timing...

I always used 93,but I notice some of you guys use 87,ouch! In the manual I believe it said not to use anything below 92 or 91, but I may try useing 87 or 91 and see how she runs, sure would save a lot of money if my baby like the lower grade formula BTW She's stock w/stock timing.

I run either 93 or 89 depending on what the temp is. If it's really hot, on 89 I'll detect a sligh pinging around 6500-6700. But mostly during the winter I run 89 unless I'm going to the track or something.
