98 GT vs 98 Cobra
 

I recall one night that I was out for shits and giggles I was at a gas stationin my 98 cobra when a 98 GT pulls up beside me and these two young kids get out. They come over and ask me what I am running on my cobra and I told them it was showroom stock.

Anyway, they tell me that they are going to common stretch of road and wanted to run up against me. I ask him what he has under there and the guy said he was running pullies, exhaust, cold air and chip.

On the way there, we hit some rolling stops and were pretty matched up, except I would always pull out after 60km/h by a car length.

I had to laugh b/c his passenger kept looking over at the car and laughing like they were all that. Granted, they had a decent car and some basic mods, but nothing to brag about.

Anyway. We do a run and I edge him out by a car length again. We line up again and he tells his buddy to get out and watch. Amazingly enough- I still beat him by a car length.

By the 4th run, I was tired and he was pissed and couldn't get past my rear quarter. If he was a nice guy, I would have let him in on the secret that I race by- Win by a car everytime. Save face, Save your car and they'll always come back for more.

Damn, until I got to the end, I was thinking, "What the heck, this guy's hanging with a cobra in a pre 99 mod GT?" What have you done to your current stang?

I traded the 98 cobra in for my 2001 GT.

I miss the cobra dearly...

That was a good story. I don't think I would have traded a 98 Cobra in though. I think the 98 Cobra is the best Cobra so far (with the exception of the 2003 Cobra :))

yeah i like the 98 cobras alot but i liked the story man!! how many miles did ur cobra have on it??
