All Racers!!!! 24th! Carlsbad.. CORRAL Is moving iN!
Well I just found a thread on corral. They are planning on moving in on our 24th day at Carlsbad! Looks like atleast 20 of them are going and they are fabbing up Corral Stickers and everything. Calling this West Coast Cyberbrawl 2001.
We gotta make a good showing of this, maybe we need some Mustangworks stickers or something too. I'm definatly bringing a video cam and digital camera to take lots of pictures, but it looks like this is getting big! Should be fun. I might need a 125shot of nos, but I'm afraid to break parts. Skyler ------------------ -1989 Saleen Mustang #406- TFS Heads, E-303, edelbrock intake,70MM TB, 73mm MAF, off road H, 2 1/4" exhaust, and 4.10's. 332RWHP@5500 351RWTQ@3750 Runs on 87 Octane! |
The question is... what determines the winner? The group that has the fastest timeslips?

I have no idea. They are just horning in on our event. None the less it should be cool. But no one over there believes my dyno numbers. I'm really lookin forward to this now.. All our cars and all of theres too!

WHOA! Did they purposly plan to come because of us or is this a random thing? Looks like Im gonna have to get a little squeeze too http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif I am soooo anxious for this. I think about it constantly while Im at work, planning my launch and what Im gonna do to my car before the big day. Sky, Are you still bringing those slicks? Cuz I really wanna use em.

You beat me to the post sky...I started to read a little since seeing your post and came across it.
I am stoked about it! You really souldn't worry about getting in enough passes, they move ppl through QUICK and there is no tech inspection etc.. They decided to go on the 24th cause edgecrusher mentioned we were going too. More stangs the better! their thread... http://www.corral.net/Forums/Forum10/HTML/022653.html |
oh, by the way...stickers? nah...I will be wearing my MUSTANGWORKS T-shirt!!
|
I would put a sticker on my car for that day. What about screennames? Is anyone going to put their screenname on their car? It might be corny but It would help distinguish the different people.

I am still going to put ed1371 on my quarterwindow.
|
Would one of you guys (SKYMAN, FASTANG) fire off another one of those e-mails to everyone a couple days before we go so we've got an idea who's going and where everybody's meeting up and when?
Skyman - are you leaving your spare and all other "excess" weight at home that day? ------------------ 86 GT, GT40P heads, Crane 2031, 1.7 RR's, Cobra intake, 65mm TB, 73mm Vortech, 24# injectors, MAC GT40P headers, 2-1/2" BBK H-pipe (w/cats), Flowmasters, 3.55s, Groundpounder subs and lower control arms, 277 RWHP. www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?1537 |
I will send an email out a few days before to make sure everyone is still in. And we can meet up at toysrus and all..

Dang it! Why can't you guys be closer to here! I wanna go! I finally got the Mamba running right( as in I got a new set of rings, etc), and I really need to beat up on some one. *sigh* I guess I'll have to settle for surprizing a few LS1's.

It looks like the scheduling just happened. The corral started making plans around Feb 26 and the thread started hear around Feb 12. I visit both sites so as far as I feel it should be a lot of fun.
The last time I was at Carlsbad I felt outnumbered by Cameros and Vettes. Lets overwhelm those GM folks. http://members.home.net/kenicardi/images/burnout. ------------------ ------------------ 95 Blown Cobra #83 of 4005 :) ------------------ |

Man, I wish I had that TKO in my LX!!!!!!!
Looks like at least 3-5 Lightnings will be there (from NLOC.ORG). I'll be there with my white 94. Unfortunately, I won't be beating any LS1s with my Ltng., but at least I can ram them off track. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif Maybe I'll attach the license from my stang to the rear glass of my truck (license says NO SLO PK) Russ ------------------ '91 LX Procharger, 3 row intercooler, extrude honed Cobra intake, Mac full Length Headers, 30# inj., 73mm C&L, 75mm tb, E303 cam, 289 rods, ported E7 heads, MSD, T-Rex w/255 lph Walbro, 5 lug conversion, Cobra R wheels, 3.27 gears and Moser Axles. |

Look under :Regional, then Western. I know the guy who made the post. Its the same guy I raced a few weeks back and lost to by a car and a half. He's hitting 13.20's and Im pretty sure his best mph is 109. I wanna re-match at Carlsbad.

Umm, just dawned on me...maybe one of us should call carlsbad raceway and let em know there is going to be a LARGE turnout on the 24th so they have a heads up. Anyone live in the nearby area to call them?
|
Hey sky/fastang, I never got the details. Can you e-mail them to me?

Can someone e-mail me the details?, please. I am still trying to make it fit my schedule so I would like to know the details. Are there any caravans passing through Orange County (5 or 405)? If so, what time do you think you'll be coming through so I can possibly meet up. If there are any caravans starting out in the OC area, let me know as well

hey Skyman, at 332rwhp you are going to be giving those chevys more than they can handle. you'll probably embarrass them so bad they'll all leave http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif you definately should crack the 12's with that kind of hp.
did you dyno it at germanson(how ever you spell that) in oxnard? If so do you have there phone#, and how long did it take to get your car in there? kill some chevys for me! on a side note I have a pretty good feeling I'm going to crack into the 13's even with my crappy driving, so do I need a helmet at Carlsbad? thanks. ------------------ 96 stang, ported 99 heads, 99 intake, 99 cams,Steeda power pullies, 373's, 70mm t/b, gutted maf, bassani x-pipe w/cats, ultraflow catback, iat mod, home depot ram air, k@n. fms spings, tri-ax shifter. OK, I am only going to offer once...
If anyone needs to do some last minute work on thier car, let me know, I can get you on to Marine Air Station Miramar to use the auto hobby shop. It is about 20 minutes from the track. (also good if someone breaks something!) These hobby shops are kick a$$ and only cost 2 bucks an hour. Lifts, tools, and mechanics are on duty to assist. -ed |
Ed- Sounds great. I can't think of anythign I really need to do to my car right now, but I wish I could think of something! Nice to know though if something does happen to break http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif. (fingers crossed).
We are meeting in Thousand Oaks at 9:30am and leaving hopefully by 9:45. Here are the directions... To get to ToysRUs just take the 101 south, to the moorpark ave. exit (next off ramp exit after lynn rd.on 101) then make a left. Janns market place is the shopping center on the left just after hill crest ave. It's like 3-4 lights up. you can't miss it. We then will be picking up Fastangs group farther south off the 5 freeway. If your farther south ask him about where they plan to meet up. I will be callin him from my cell when we get close and coordinating a pick up of them. Here come the MW boys! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/smile.gif 46stang- Yeah I went to germanson w/ advice from withamc. It only took 2 days to get in and their phone # is 971-1055. If you dont have a timing adjuster and adjustable FPR I suggest you get them before you go there so they can tune your car up all perfect. I'd be excited to see what kinda numbers you'll put down. I'm gettin soo excited! I wish I had some extra cash I'd throw on a 125shot of nos.. dangit. Skyler ------------------ -1989 Saleen Mustang #406- TFS Heads, E-303, edelbrock intake,70MM TB, 73mm MAF, off road H, 2 1/4" exhaust, and 4.10's. 332RWHP@5500 351RWTQ@3750 Runs on 87 Octane! |
well I don't have either one http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif I was just getting curious to what kind of hp I have. I guess I'll save up for the fpr and timing adj. you 5.0 guys are lucky, I have to pay $175 to be able to adj. my timing. how much are the adj. fpr, going for? oh yea and do you need a helmet for 13's at carlsbad? see you at 9:30am toys r us. 7 days and counting!

I dont have a helmet either http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/frown.gif
|
I'm sure everyone knows, but you do need a helmet and long pants.
Fastang - Thanks for the info on the meeting spot. If I am able to go, I will pm & post later in the week. That meet spot isn't too far from me. Thanks again ------------------ 347, 279/284 .493/.510, TFS TW, Stealth, 750, Flowtech hdrs, Dr. Gas X, 2 Chmbr Flowmaster, MSD 6AL-Dist.& SS coil, Art Carr C-4, Currie 9" w/3.55, alum Drv Shft, susp mods, 4 wheel power disc In a 66 coupe |
No problem, Why dont you meet me at Rose and Imperial on Thursday around 9-9:30? Thats where you asked about on my other post.

Just some info...
You need a helmet even if your car runs 18.00's I already gave up the spare helmet I got from a friend...anyone else have a spare that one of these guys can use? A roll cage is needed if you have a vert running in the 13's (you can get a run in but they will send you to the bleachers after that) Long pants are needed...They will not let you race without them Do not burn out past the start line during staging Roll up windows as soon as you get near the staging area Have your seat belt on (duh!) have your paperwork ready and in hand when you go up to the starting line for the first time. |
Can't we trade off helmets since we all wont be running at the same time... ****** ... I'm short too.
Sky ------------------ -1989 Saleen Mustang #406- TFS Heads, E-303, edelbrock intake,70MM TB, 73mm MAF, off road H, 2 1/4" exhaust, and 4.10's. 332RWHP@5500 351RWTQ@3750 Runs on 87 Octane! |
Pomona didnt make you wear a helmet untill you could cut a 13.999 or better. I made lots of 14 sec passes there without a helmet. I dont think Carlsbad is as strict as Pomona...I heard they dont even tech the cars first!
------------------ 95GT B303 cam, 1.7 rockers, 65mm TB, 73mm MAF, milled heads, 355's K&N, off road pipes, pulleys, msd coil, 9mm wires, Tremec 3550, Pro5.0 shifter,10.5 Motorsport clutch, FMS aluminum driveshaft, weld in subframe connectors |
FYI, you WILL need a helmet to run at Carlsbad no matter how fast your car is. They do tech in the staging lanes in about 4 seconds. see ya there
|
Fastang - I will try to meet up with you this Thursday night.
Also, every time I've been there they've made everyone racing wear a helmet. The last time we had 3 people sharing the same helmet so we had to try to space the cars out enough in the staging lines to be able to complete the "helmet pass marathon". ------------------ 347, 279/284 .493/.510, TFS TW, Stealth, 750, Flowtech hdrs, Dr. Gas X, 2 Chmbr Flowmaster, MSD 6AL-Dist.& SS coil, Art Carr C-4, Currie 9" w/3.55, alum Drv Shft, susp mods, 4 wheel power disc In a 66 coupe |
I dont have a problem letting someone use my helmet in between runs. I might be able to get one or two more also. (total of four: my own, sky, and whoever) Got to warn you though. my personal helmet is my dirt bike helmet and it has that "not so fresh feeling!" (looks cool though with the Troy Lee design kit!)
GP6T is right...tech is a joke! only 6 days left... [This message has been edited by ed1371 (edited 03-18-2001).] |
I'm so jealus of all you guys....I at least want to go and watch.....oh well......less than a year and i should be in texas. Have guys and good luck with it all.

I've never run it except on the street, it has new wheels & tires, new exaust, and that about covers it. Looking to change a lot in the future including engine. Any ideas are appreciated. |
I don't think that I am going to be able to make it....but if I do make it, I will be in a car that will be kicking up dust from the rear-end.....
|
SKYMAN - I will throw an extra dirt bike helmet in the back seat for you. L or XL? (hehe)
|
Everybody will be kicking up dust from the rear, cuz you have to drive on a half mile of ******* dirt road to ge into the track.
|
Withamc- I forgot ED is bringing a helmet for me, but thanks for the offer, I really appreciate it. Maybe you could bring it along though, as it seems like a lot of our guys are still in need. I'm sure jesse (fastang) is gonna need one, if you want to loan it out.
