![]() For the third time in two years I need another trans. Has anyone else had a problem with their aode? I can't figure out what is causing it (maby I should untie the cinder block from my foot). If anyone has any ideas let me know. The only thing I can think of is that my tranny cooler isn't doing the job and is burning the fluid.
Thanks.... ------------------ 95 GT convertable, 3.73 gears,Catco Hi-flo h-pipe, Flowtech headders, Cobra intake w/ 65mm tb GT40 heads, march underdrive pullies, Saleen wires, custom made cold air induction |

![]() although the /E's have some improvements
over the plain AOD's, they still won't handle much power/abuse in stock configuration. There are parts in later model 4R70W's that will retrofit, along with non-stock control settings and parts like clutches and gearsets etc that will cure the problems, but a swap to a particular used later model (with upgraded clutches and shift control settings) that has all those good hard parts stock (cheaper than buying those expensive parts separately!)might make sense. I sent you some info I've discovered after quite a bit of research for myself. |

![]() Hate to tell you this but a stock AODE can't handle your setup. You need to get a High Performance AODE. Level 10 is a real good one. Lentech Makes a dam good tranny, and so does transmission center. I have the one from Transmission center I love it. without a shiftkit, higher special pressure solenoid your tranmission will just burn up.

![]() Thanks for the help guys. I've got about 12,000mi left on the warrenty now so I've probably got one one more transmission left b4 the warrenty expires. What I was planning on doing was get a larger trany pan, aftermarket cooler, and the trans-go kit. I saw in the year one cataloge a heay duty input shaft, would that be a good idea for me?
