Question Low Buck SC

Is it too good to be true? In the Ford Racing Catalog, there is a Supercharger for the 4.6 that has a MSRP of $1025. Granted it only adds 55hp but if you put on some headers, off-road H, Cat-Back, etc. You could have a 380+hp pony for a few dollars. Is it too good to be true? This would keep anyone looking to stay streetable right in the zone, while shocking quite a bit of those F-Bodies that are always talking smack. At only 6# of boost, you would probably be able to run the configuration for years to come. Has anyone ever tried one of these low, buck, low boost superchargers from Ford Racing? If so, I am very interested in what you have to say. By the way, my local parts dealer is will ing to give it ot me for $925. Under a grand gives me - 6#of boost, 30# injectors, replacement ECU, replacement intake (part of the SC).

Sounds like a good deal. Most of the FRPP superchargers are powerdyne. But ever since they got their internal belt drive problem fixed..their a pretty good supercharger for the money. Sadly to say they don't have alot of potential but their good for no more than they cost.

I see no price...

I think it has all the needed junk. It comes w/ new fuel stuff ("fuel system parts are supplied in hardware kit. Including high capacity fuel pump and 30 lb./hr. injectors"), a chip ("engine management computer unique to this application which is included in hardware kit"), and "is designed to be used with the production engine, requiring only the intake manifold to be changed. No internal modifications are necessary." Sounds good to me, but one thing. Ford Racing parts aren't known to be the cheapest...like I said, I see no price.

--The site also said you need a hardware kit, and I didn't see anything about belts (although it did say it was 6 psi booster).

By the looks of the FRPP catalog the BASE kit costs $ 1,025. and the INSTALLATION kit costs $ 1,025. The base kit is the supercharger, the installation kit includes the injectors, fuel pump, computer, and all gaskets etc... the total for the unit would be 2.050 bucks! Still not all that bad. also, these kits are for the 96 - 98 4.6s unless they have a new kit, they say in small print ( other applications under development). My book is a few months old so maybe they have come down in price and developed some new units. For the money though it sure would be alot less work than putting on the head swap kits!
