Back to life...

This forum is really dead, couple years ago there were kill stories like mad.

lets bring this thing back, I know I for one havnt posted crap in a long time.

Well Im putting a solid rear and 4.30s in the cobra this weekend, and my buddy is picking up a supercharged 2001 bullitt as well so I think I should have some stories and videos this coming week :-D

You will love the 4.30's with the solid axle. When I had my 01 cobra a friend of mine had a 99 cobra with 4.30 gears and a solid axle and he would absolutely rape my car.

Skyman 02-27-2004 01:47 PM

Whatd u do with your 01?

Dark_5.0 02-27-2004 02:26 PM

I sold it. I never drove the car I only put 6 thousand miles on it in 1 1/2 years.

I bought my girlfriend a 00 beetle to put around in. When she gets out of school next summer I get to upgade to something in the Vette/Viper category.

Selling it was all part of a bigger plan.

Ackbar00 02-27-2004 02:28 PM

Its winter in Ohio, So no stories here:(

But there will be when I get this overpriced Hairdryer moving:D

Skyman 02-27-2004 02:29 PM

can i ask what u got for it?

Dark_5.0 02-27-2004 02:37 PM

It was a fully loaded 01 cobra with every factory option. Bone stock with 14,000 miles on it. I sold it for $22,900.00

I know I haven't posted many kill stories in some time now. Here in Texas they throw you in the slammer and maybe even take your car now for street racing. I don't do it much for those reasons.

Yet if someone interesting revs at me and wants to go in a relatively safe situation, then I would probably go.

Yeah winter sucks in the north! I should have my car together by early april. Then I will be sure to post all kinds of kills, Here viper viper viper.

Rev 02-28-2004 12:51 AM

Vipers?

With 12.03's and 125's, you should eat stock vipers alive I would think. I do get my car chassis dynoed at a shop that caters to Vipers, TNT Motorsorts in Houston. Some of their projects do dyno at 600 on the motor and 900 on the bottle. Not saying you won't waste some Vipers, but then there are those others too. Good luck in your endeavors.

Rev, first you car is sweet its so rare to see a older one getting used for what it was made for.

As for vipers when I set out to build my car I wanted it to be faster then any production car, and to me the viper is the pinical. I have yet to have a real race with one and can't wait for a chance I know I could woop a stock one pretty easily but its all about fulfilling dreams :D

As for my times those are old times the car went faster last summer at a eight mile track (the ET converted to 11.66@127.5) I have tons of tweeks this year planned including running ET's drags so traction should be under control. I hope to run 10.40's at hopefully 130mph.

Jeez..phenomenal?

Hope you can do it. 10's @ 130 in a street driven car is mind boggling to me. I'm just happy with low-mid 13's. I do keep thinking of a Paxton for carbureted engines, but then there would be traction problems, more burnt clutches in the tranny/posi, etc.

It's been rain season in seattle for the last 2 years, so not much to post  I went to the track with my mustang a few times before i sold it and had some cool races with LT1 Camaros and other mustangs but i just never posted them. Near the end i was working on the car getting it prepped to race more than i drove it on the street.
I can't exactly have an exciting street race my explorer or jeep cherokee....i've tried, it just doesn't work.

EZRIDN 02-29-2004 09:26 AM

Yea it has been kind of dead. If we can keep cool people here, and weed out the ones that make crazy stories up and who never run at the track we will be ok.

I really like this forum, so thats why i started posting some kills even if it was from the LS1.

Rev 02-29-2004 04:03 PM

Oh, oh, here we go again

I can't wait to hear the responses to this one.

Shh.. I think I hear something whistleing?

Skyman 03-01-2004 06:32 PM

Not if everything turns out as I hope. Shooting to run some high 11's on a stock motor w/ 4.30s and some tires... Full exhaust, air meter, ported stock lower intake, and a live rear axle which I just put in over the weekend outta a 03 gt.

You are going to have to drive it like you stole it. Ofcourse you don't have a problem with that.
