Post blown 98 V-6 Camaro

My girlfriend's ex says he owns this car and it runs 11s. I just can't see a V-6 running 11s. He wants to run me, and I can't lose for obvious reasons. Do yall think it is possible that it really could run 11s??? BTW, he said it is a Boston Supercharger and was built by Petrie racing(the Nascar team or something), has anyone heard of a Boston supercharger? I think he is full of it, but any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

tell him to put his money where his mouth is. And no way is a Nascar tean going to build him a car, not unless he is loaded. And I've never heard of a Boston supercharger.

A Nascar Team building a setup for a V-6? I kinda doubt it.

What i found works in those situations is ask them really techincal questiosn about the car that they should know.....

whats the 60' time?
what mph?
what rpm do u shift at?
what did it dyno?
why didn;t he buy a v-8 to begin with
what size pulley for the blower,,etc,,,,
say it in a way where u make him think u really knwo what ur talking about.

see if that helps

I have heard of a few supercharged V6 Camaros and Mustangs running in the low 12s and high 11s, but these cars were highly modified. Most of those V6 cars that they just bolt a supercharger onto are going to run in the 13s at best.

When you beat him, tell him he should get a supercharger built for indy cars instead of Nascar. He's probably full of it, i've never heard of Boston superchargers, and also.....Nascars don't have superchargers and are tube chassis naturally aspirated old school 350's (or whatever displacement they use) as well as being carbureted. Maybe he just had a tuner who works on nascars install this supercharger, so now he's boasting his car is ready for nascar....
Run his car, kick his *** , and stomp on his dignity.

....wow i'm sounding kinda harsh....let me edit "Run his car, kick his @ss and tell him to have a nice day.....and that YOUR girlfriend is great in bed"
man, i'm an @ss !

Have you guys ever heard of a Grand National or a Toyota Supra. Both turbos but you get the point. Although I wouldnt use a v6 as a starting point for a performance engine, they can haul some serious azz if done correctly.

Yes I have, BUT the street blowers made for the V-6's are low boost blowers. I am not saying that you can't pull the motor, strengthen it up, port the heads, get a cam, blah blahblah blah, and get a fast car, but what's the point? You say "look at the GN's and Supras" Well, they were built for power in the first place....not economy.

RKSport built a V-6 a few years ago with a 6 psi Vortech....it ran 14.5's@96-97....made about 280 hp.

Salen had a V-6 Sport car in 94 that they made like 2 of. It ran high 14's and made about 220 hp. But you could possibly get mid 13's with those cars with minor pulley and exhaust, gear upgrades.....but not 11's unless you go all out. But then it wouldn't be very streetable.

he is full of **** , The fastest v6 camaro I know of runs high 12's to low 13's on nitrous, he probably has a 6 or 8 psi supercharger and probably runs high 13's. he would have to be very heavily modded to run 11's

I think it was MM&FF that did an article on a meeting of v-6s at a track. The fast car there was a v-6 blown camaro, it ran high 12s. Very respectable times indeed. I doubt the stock engine could go much faster than that and I never hear of a boston blower either. Maybe he ordered it from boston(LOL).

Thanks for all of the input. I did ask him if he ran it, and of course the answer was no. Then I asked him if he dynoed it and to no surprise the answer was also no. When i asked why, he said because the tires spin so easily he was afriad they would spin off the dyno. Yesterday, my girlfriend IM's me and tells me that she is talking to the girl who just broke up with him, and he said that he beat me in his Acura 3.2, and that he was going to beat me again in his Camaro. Don't you think it would be rather hard to beat me while my car is in the shop being re-painted. Sorry to take up so much space. Thanks again for the help, and I'll let yall know if he does come race me.
