Default Boxter S hangs right in there

Yesterday in the middle of the day I was cruising the Houston freeways. When not too much traffic, I enjoy taking a looping ramp onto 288 which is a wide almost 180 degree ramp at 70 mph (says 40 mph). My car has really a more or less road race suspension in a '66 coupe.

As I was doing this I noticed a Boxter S that I had gone by earlier coming up hard on my a$$. When I was up on the freeway he was really coming up hard behind me. Knowing that it was an "S", I dropped back into 2 nd gear at 70 and ran up to 110 mph. He didn't gain any but didn't lose any either, but he then let off. I slowed down also and moved into the center lane so as to let him get even for another run. He went way back and appeared not to want another run.

This is the stupidest way for me to race a car like that. My car is a brick and at a disadvantage to a car like that at highway speeds. I'm also a 3 speed auto vs. a 6 speed standard in that case.

I've blown the doors off of a regular Boxter from a stand still about a year ago, but never raced an "S" before. Just wish I could have gone from a light instead of 60-70.
