I just put on Groundpounder subs, and I hope to get the Groundpounder lower control arms on this weekend. I'm also taking it to get it dyno'd Friday.
Hey - I just put on an Aeromotive FPR and it's jammed tight against my EGR valve. Anybody ever run into this? Is there an EGR valve that DOESN'T do this? AAHH!

ed1371 03-08-2001 01:34 PM

well, just talked to Summit and my cage will be shipped out fri or sat...just have to get it in the car in time to race! everyone still good to go?

fastang 03-08-2001 02:19 PM

HE11 yeah Im still goin. Im gonna do my best to get a new intake before then too.

withamc 03-08-2001 06:27 PM

We don't need cages for this, do we?

fastang 03-08-2001 07:53 PM

I dont think you need a cage untill you run 11's but I could be wrong, either way Im not gonna have to worry about it for a while. lol

no, you guys dont need cages unless you have a convertible that runs 13.99 or less. They usually are lieniant but I have been going there too often and was told last time that unless I get a cage, I cant go below 14's. (No fun if I cant go for my best time!)

Sky or Fastang, can you send me a private message with the details?

Thanks!

NO SLO PK, judging by your sig, your car looks awesome. Have you ever ran it before?

withamc 03-09-2001 01:49 AM

Well, since I've got a convertible, I guess I better not break into the 13's, or that'll be my only run for the day, huh? I'm taking it to Germanson Automotive in Oxnard for a dyno-tune on Friday, so I'll plug the results into the analyzer and see what I should run. Look at my sig and take a guess on RWHP.

No SLO- Did you get the details of where we are meeting up?

Damn I'm gettin excited guys! I cant wait.

withAmc- How did you get in there? I heard itw as a 6mo waiting list? Are they going to tune your car? I'd love to get a tuneing session in.

As for last minute. I'm pulling all the seats, Front sway, A/C and thats it.

SKYMAN - Just call them up. That 6 month backlog was earlier in the year, they're OK now. I could have gone last week, but I wasn't ready yet. He's going to hook up a wideband O2 sensor, fuel pressure monitor, then run it, tweak it and run it some more. They can burn chips for you, but that gets expensive. It's $100 an hour for dyno time.

I am bringing a couple from here and maybe one more from san diego. I really hope the third person goes...his stang is set up for autocross and it is absolutly BAD! He has over 5K just in the suspention alone! He is also one hell of a driver. Dammit pete, if you are reading this you better be there!

fastang 03-09-2001 03:39 PM

Droppin the A/C huh Sky, What do you have to do about the belts?

withamc 03-09-2001 10:23 PM

Better than I thought it would be! 277 RWHP @ 5000 RPM, 313 ft/lbs torque @ 3500 RPM. It started out at 242 HP, dropped the fuel pressure to 35 PSI, advanced the timing to 16, 34 more HP.
If I figure my 86 convertible with 200 lb me in it weighs 3600 lbs, that should put me at a 13.7 at 99 MPH. (assuming I know how to drive). Think they'll kick me off the track?
I'm putting the LCA's in this weekend, if I have time I'll rebuild the Trac-Lock and lose the sway bar before we go.

ed1371 03-10-2001 03:43 AM

withamc: they will let you make a couple runs before telling you to pit it...
(one for the warning, 1 more to get put in the bleachers)

Skyman 03-10-2001 05:57 AM

Wow thats good Withamc. How much did it cost you for that tune? $100 or more?
Also I say you trap 103! just hunch, but we'll see. Does the car feel stronger after the tune? And could you get me the # for germanson I'm gonna get in there!!

As for gettin kicked off at POMONA you need a helmet for 13.99. I got 4 runs in before they sent me back for not having one. Is carlsbad the same? if so I need one to borrow!!

As for the A/C it was hot today and I decieded I think I'm going to keep it. Another 40lbs of my front end is just going to make it ride even higher than before...

I think Im gonna ice down my car at the track though and pull the accessory belt completely for 1 run. I heard that gives you 2mph!

The gathering sounds great guys, hope you all have fun. This really isn't about street racing and it has gone on for quite some time. It has come down to a discussion between a few.

Since most of this can be handled via email I am going to close it here.
