I have a video of when I went to the dragstrip and got a 13.9 @ 99.9 mph. Keep in mind that this was at Fontana's California Dragway. I'm not sure on the elevation but I have been there several times and have never seen a stock LS1 on street tires run faster than that. Most would have a higher trap speed (usually between 100-102 mph), but would only get 14.0 - 14.3's. Actually, most of the modded LS1's would not even break into the 12's! and I'm talking cars that had ET streets. I just went to Palmdale (LACR) and ran back to back 14.2xx's at 97.1 mph (with my friend in the car!) and 98.3 mph with just me. That elevation is close to or atleast 3000 ft. A guy I know has a brand new 01' Bullitt and was there when I ran the 14.2. He knows how to drive pretty well but was only running like 15.5's at 91-93 mph. Believe me, I am not saying that LS1's do not run low 13's or even high 12's stock. My biggest point is that there are too many factors that will affect 1/4 mile timeslips and mph and everyone comparing times from different dragstrips, different states, different countries, different continents, does nothing in my opinion. Ask Skyman where he got his 12.54 @ 107 mph. It was at Carlsbad (almost sea level). Ask him what his best time is at LACR. I'll bet it is mid to high 13's at maybe 101 - 102 mph! I have never run my car at Carlsbad, but I went down there once with my brother to watch. There was a guy there with a Corvette running 12.1-12.2 at 112 - 113 mph. I saw him at Fontana a few weeks before that only running 12.8-12.9 at 106-107 mph. Big difference if you ask me. Sorry the post is so long. I hope I have made a point with all of this blabber!
