Post Carlsbad..... RIP

I heard Carlsbad is finally closed. Sold to developers. Strip mall going in there.

Where to now? Fontana thats extreamly packed and won't allow my slicks?

Or bakersfield that extreamly hot and seems to give bad mph? (101 C5 vettes)

Any other suggestions?

I haven't checked, but Moorhead, MN may still be open, LOL. At least you'd trap like a raped ape. 40* outside up there I bet.

Hey Sky,
Last time at Fontana there were several cars running slicks (not just DR). Including one 9 sec 67 Mustang and a Lightning. I think they are not enforcing ALL the rules. Most of the people I know think they put alot of strict rules on paper to get the program running, but aren't really enforcing too many.

Fontana isnt that bad and it wasnt packed at all. In fact it was quite nice to see vendors out there promoting products. I also liked the types of cars at Fontana and I like the concrete launch pad.

Im probably going THIS sunday if anyone wants to go? Sky, you could race me on street tires (off the bottle )

Sky: my cousin went on Sep 8th to Fontana with his Integra Type R and went 14.1 @ 100 mph. His best time at Pomona was a 14.4 at 96 mph. He has done a few mods to his car between the two tracks but Fontana is only about 20 miles away from Pomona, close to the same elevation. It has a real nice concrete launch pad. I am going tomorrow morning (Saturday). I'll let everyone know how I did!

Sounds good. Lemme know how you do. Also, what are all the regulations there?

Does anyone know? I sure as hell dont want to drive 2.5 hours and get turned around cuz of something stupid.

I'm interested to see how those Y heads perform for you. We've been having a hell of a time trying to get my cousins car to perform with that same crate motor.

Damn that sucks a**. Now there are gonna be no 1/4 mile dragstips anywhere near me. What do we need strip malls for anyway, isnt there enough stores out here already. Now the closest thing I have to a dragstrip is frickin 1/8 mile qualcomm. damn!!!

Sky, Im defintitely going tommorow. You WILL need proof of insurance but thats about it. They might let you run your slicks if you ask. Sky, my cell is 1-714-878-3648. Call me tonight if you want to meet up somewhere. Im going with a few friends. If you need to do some last minute tuning you can use my garage. Im going to go home and spray a can of carbon clean in my TB to try and clean out ALL the oil residue that may be left and maybe remove my RF headlamp and make a Home depot style ram air

I can't find my proof of insurance, but I have my card from my integra which is on the same policy so I dont know if they will let me run or not. Not to mention I dont have a helmet...

Call me or email me, I will be on plenty tonight, and be checking back here.
