Check out these times and tell me how i can get better!
i finally went to track this year in my new to me 90 stang. here are some times i rean. i ran a total of 9 times!!! POOR CAR!
Anyways, I got progressively better with 1/4 mile times as well as launches and mph. here a re a few from worst to best. 14.2 101 2.1 14.0 102 2.2 13.9 102 2.2 13.8 103 2.2 13.5 103 2.1 13.6 103 2.1 13.5 103 2.0 13.7 103 2.1 each take off i spun a little in first and second. more so in first. I shifted quickly from 1 through third and power shifted into 4th each time. the first slow times, i did not bring the rpm's up at all, and spun like crazy. i played with it a little and found that i could bring the rpm's up to about 2 grand and drop the clutch. those were my quickest 60' times. these are on regular street tires with less pressure in them. Now my question is! HOW CAN I GET CONSISTENTLY 13.4 TIMES AND A BEST OF 13.2?? THIS IS WHAT THE CAR HAS DONE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. ANY THOUGHT ON LAUNCHING TECHNIQUES AND SHIFTING, AND MYTIMES? THANKS! JIM

The guy who owned the car before you isn't going to drive the same way as you. You can't compare times with two different drivers at the wheel.

The weather was probably better and he probably power shifted every gear.
I would look into drag radials if I were you.
