F-350 vs. 1-ton chevy
Me and my dad went to the local bracket races at battlefield (it rocks living 20min from the track) Anyway it was the last round and it was a Monza vs a Mavrick. The Monza barely won. So we are coming home when we stop at a red light behind a super-duty F-350 towing the Mavrick and a 1-ton chevy pulling the Monza(both were quad-cab dualies). I hear the a tire chirp and look up to see the tow trucks raceing. the ford had the chevy by about 2 car lenghts. It was the funnyiest thing I've ever seen, well all most.

I had my old car break down and had a tow truck come and get me and the car. It was a heavly modfide truck with 502cu in it he said it was putting about 550HP to the ground and he punched in 2nd and It broke lose I was Like cool. That was while he was towing my car. I would say It would be faster than more Z28's & Mustangs He was going to take it to get some 1/4 mile times soon he thought it would be around mid 13's

sounds fun to watch..
just out of curiosity, what motors did the trucks have???? chevy still puts 350's in their 1 tons.. we have a 2000 chevy one ton crew cab with a 454.... it'll leave marks, power breaking.. seeing 1 tons racing is kinda fun.. an aquaintance of ours has a 99 chevy 1 ton dually crew cab with a blower, he claims he dino'd ft/lb of torque at +900.. i've heard him get 2nd gear squak's.... ------------------ Black,84 GT,ground effects, shorty headers, 'open' dual exh.,302 HO(no pollution control crap),T5,89 ported heads, edelbrock Performer manifold, Edelbrock 2122 cam,600 Holley, high volume oil pump... gears (4:10's) coming soon. N2O, soon to follow!!! |

Maybe I should take my '86 GMC 1 ton crew cab dually 4X4 to the track next time. I can get rubber from a dead stop with out power braking, but the top speed is about 90.
