cobra vs marenello
A couple of days ago I was out running some errands and as I was coming up to a light I saw a shelby cobra. I was zoned on it and wasn't paying attention. I pulled up behind him and was in awe. All of a sudden he started reving the motor and the next thing I know I hear anmother car reving up. I look in the next lane and there was a marenello. At first I thought the guy in the cobra was just messing around but when the light changed they both launched the ferrari gave it its all but the cobra hooked and took off. I have never seen a car launch like that it was beatiful. I thought I was going to have to go home and change my briefs. I Later talked to the guy with the cobra and he said it has a 427 side oiler and was three years in the works he has a full race suspension and had keith kauffman work out the drivetrain. It was beauty in motion.

Damn, those Cobra's are just plain sweet. Wish I could afford the kit car. When I get a house with a garage my Dad is giving me his '63 427 medium riser with the dual quad. I think I'll look for an older Mustang, '69 preferably to stick it in.
My dad's 427 was rated at 425hp stock, the side oiler was re-rated by NASCAR at 500hp. Those kit cars weigh under 2500lbs. With 500hp if it hooks I don't even know what kind of times it'd run, 10's, 11's? Fast, real damn fast! The Maranello is no slouch either though. It cranks out a real 485hp. A 60* DOHC 60v V-12 can't be wrong! http://www.mustangworks.com/interact...rd/biggrin.gif If people can launch, it's easy deep into the 12's. |
