Are Crossfires that slow?
I raced (I think) A new crossfire yesterday and I wasn't all that impressed. I was driving to the gas station when the crossfire blew by me at about twice the speed limit trying to show off and then I caught up to him at the next set of lights. He jumped off the lights pretty quick so I put my foot into it and went by him pretty easy and shifted into second and let off until he caught up and then ran pretty hard through second. He was pretty far behind by this time. I thought those things were supposed to go half decent. I don't know, maybe he wasn't even racing.

Motor Trend
Motor Trend says 14.9/93 1/4 mile. The SRT due later this year should be faster. Remember they're just 3.2L v-6's.

One source?
One internet source (the name escapes me) claims that the Crossfire SRT will have a supercharged 330 hp engine similar to the SLK 3.2 AMG. That SLK does the 1/4 mile in 13.2 seconds.
If the Crossfire SRT does that well with the SC'ed 3.2, that would be impressive for a production V-6 IMHO. Rev |
The new Car & Driver has a little blurb about the SRT-6 Crossfire. They claim a 13.5 @ 107 1/4 mile. The engine is the same as the old SLK AMG's. Not too shabby for a blown V6 but the list price is $45,695  For that kind of money, I'd rather have a M3.

Chrysler needs to put that new Hemi into a small rwd sports car.
