Control arms help some, but if you want any chance of hooking on street tires you will need to get drag springs and dampers, which will compromise handling if that is important to you. Are you removing your front swaybar when you go to the track?

Just slide the clutch and don't hit the bottle tell after the tires hook in 2nd.

Oh as for traction problems, last time I was at the track I trapped 94 in the eight and I was sideways.

... as dangerous and not effecient as that is, its still awesome. i either have really good tires (BFG h rated drag radials) or my car has a serious power issue (probably the cause) but i cant spin at all unless i dump the clutch, or im in a turn. lol, i need to at least get gears soon. not that i want to wear my tires out and have traction problems, but its nice to think you have enough power to break the rear end loose.

What is your technique for launching? What rpm are you at? How fast do you let the clutch out?

If you don't want to use slicks try better street tires. I suggest Toyo T1-S or Goodyear Eagle F1-GSD3.

Removing the front swaybar allows for better weight transfer on the launch to plant the rear tires better. The weight loss is almost inconsequential.

Removing the swaybar is worth about a tenth. Get some Nitto's too if you want a good street/strip tire. Your clutch won't last long riding it out the way you are, so I would just wait and get a good clutch. Then some slicks.

im seriously considering the steeda lower control arm i just dont think that for the money they are gonna improve my 60's all that much...i also kinda want my car to run good the way i drive it every day. i went to bristol dragway last night for the thursday night street fights...first time ever runnin down the 1/4...my 60' were pretty bad and my times were even worse. the best time i could pull was like a 14.8 @ 94 with a 2.23 60' but i only got to run twice it was so packed by the time i got there but i did have fun... i saw a guy with a 01 i think blow his stock engine up with a 200 shot yes a 200 shot..was anybody down there? it was a silver gt with bullet wheels...i felt bad for the guy but i think its pretty much common sense a 200 shot and a stock 4.6 dont mix
