Post ram air vs throttle bodies

I'm now the proud owner of a 98 gt convertible, I've changed the pulleys on it and would like to make it breathe a little better. I've changed the stock filter to a k&n, but was thinking about adding a ram air kit. Would this give me a few more horses or would it be better to just change to a bigger throttle body or add a spacer to the throttle body, what are your thoughts?

I would go with the Ram Air, between that and a set of underdrive pulleys you may get 25hp or so. The bigger TB at this point will not give you that much, I would also do the rear gears if you want a little more low end punch and plan on doing some racing, 3:73 at the minimum with a 5sp and 4:10's as a minimum with a AOD. Good Luck with your new toy and Welcome to the board!

Cool

Personally I wouldn't waste the $$$ on the ram air kit.....save the cash for gears/intake/tb/maf/heads/headers. Just get a k&n filter cone for now if you want to do something.

Thumbs up

If you get a Ram air kit, be aware that it works better at higher speeds. I have a stormin normin hood by cervini with functional ram air, and I absolutely recommend it. It was one of the best purchases I have ever gotten as far as looks and functionality are concerned. I don't know about these under-the-bumper ram air kits.. i'd be really wary to drive anywhere near big puddles!

ram-air is a joke. buy the bigger TB, if your engine needs it. The best thing you can do is go to the 99' and up heads.
