TypeR - It is pretty tough to believe a 30whp gain from a header on a 4 cylinder. You got a dyno sheet to back that up or is that a manufacturer's claim?

it's a 6 and i have both ...here you go...this is stock...then headers then cold air intake oh and BTW the headers as claimed by the manufacturer is 32 peak but its only 24 for the new high still i realize thats much more than most cars get from headers 4/6/or8 cylinders...what can i say...a very resrictive oe manifold

Those are some good HP gains for such modest mods.

Yes it is possible to beat a 99+GT to 70 or beyond. You wouldnt beat me, but a lesser driver sure I can believe it.

Your buddy claims to have reeled in a 97 cobra on the top end. Now that is BS.

You are not the typical ricer you have both mods and proof of HP, So you have my respect. I realy dont see any way your acura's with equal drivers would take any v8 stang off the line. Your cars make good HP but lack Torque.

Is there anyone in your stang killing acura club that lives anywhere near me. I would like to see for myself.

Go back to your site and set it up surely someone is from west texas on there. I dont care what N/A mods they have either.

Just for bragging rights.

we have about 180lb.ft at 2000 but you're actually hitting the nail on the head...all that low end torque will have alot of guys having too much wheel spin off the line...its is the launch that seems to determine weather i win or lose a lighly modded 99+GT when i go against someone that knows what he's doing he puts 1 to 2 cars on me out of the hole than i pace him in usually resulting in a 9.2 to 9.4 loss for me in the 1/8th on the other hand if i get the light and he doesnt get his best launch it could go either way ....on the street much easier for the GT guy to blow the launch, let's face it there not all track guys...i might have a friend for you to hook up with in texas...and he too is no ricer...oh you wanna see a dyno of the short block i hope to have installed here shortly.
http://forums.mustangworks.com/attac...&postid=187201

understand this dyno assumes the headers and intake

That's very impressive, typeR. I guess I assumed that like most smaller dislacement (relative to a V8) motors with a lot of horsepower, the CL was fairly well optimized from the factory and wouldn't gain much from simple mods like a header (my friend's Integra Type R for example). Nice to see a dyno sheet when you want proof!

That it is. What if he drives 4 hrs and you drive 3, you meet up and you stomp him? Guess it's really not worth the trip now that I think about it.

i wonder what would happen if the 4.6's SOHC or DOHC had the VVT in it? now that would be something. as for the CL, it has this technology. i cant see an auto CL beating a 97 Cobra, but it is not hard for me to see them to keep up. i know from personal experience how fast a CL S is. for an import, they have my respect. those things can wind up too

Default Verts

Inferno, I'm pretty sure the NHRA won't let you go below 14.0 in a vert without a cage or roll bar. The rule doesn't apply to me, so I don't pay much attention. I do have to wear a helmet though, LOL. (worn out motorcycle helmet).
