Default Disappointed RX7 FD Turbo

I ran into a guy the other night driving a metallic goldish-tan RX7 FD. I could tell he wanted to play because I could hear him getting on it spooling up the turbo and I could hear a loud blowoff valve. We got alongside each other and he had a grin like he thought he had something on me - it definitely sounded modded. There was some traffic and he had his window down so I just burned out a little in 2nd as we drove along to give him an ear full of Eaton whine (and to heat up my R-compounds ).
We drove along with traffic for a while and finally turned off onto an empty 4-lane road. We went from about a 35 mph roll with me in 2nd (4.10s, T56) and I gave him 3 honks. I could tell his car was quicker than a stock FD turbo (I have a friend with one that runs high-12s) but I made perfect traction and pulled him like he was a 3rd grade school girl on roller skates. I shut it down shortly after getting into 3rd gear with about 4-5 cars on him already.
We went one more time from a roll and this time I even gave him a little jump after my 3rd honk. Same results - RX7 left in the dust.
We pulled up to a stop light and all he could say was 'Holy !@$ that thing is fast'. I just grinned and told him V8s like boost too. I revved up to launch from the light and the poor guy just pulled a U-turn and scampered off with his tail between his legs.
Nothing like surprising someone who's used to beating up on stock stangs...

It's the version of the RX7 (around a '93 or so) that they sold previous to the RX8. Really light (2500 or 2600 lbs) with a turbo rotary.

I'll be going to Sacramento Raceway on the 22nd this month to run it but with my stiff roadrace suspension I probably won't cut a very good short time. Cars with the same mods as me are making about 400-420 rwhp and with decent traction run mid-high-11s at similar race weight but I'll probably be in the low 12s at somewhere in the 115-120 mph range. I'll be getting a dyno tune soon too hopefully.

An FD rx7 are the ones imported between 1993 and 1995. They have a sequential twin turbo setup. and they are running an advertised 255 hp stock at the wheels believe.
