Dodge Stratus R/T

This morning I went to BK to get breakfast. On the way there, I got caught at a light on 211. 211 here is a two lane each way, with a bunch of lights. It is 45 mph most of the way. Anyway, I pull up to a light, and there is a brand new Stratus R/T sitting there. I saw a feature on these cars on car and driver. Sharper than the Avenger, and faster too. Thing was jet black, had some body kit on it, with a coffee can tail pipe. (?) Light turns green, and he takes off. I figured, my car needs a workout this morning, needs to stretch her legs a little. So I gun it. No traction in first. Now this guy is pulling, he got like A 2 second jump on me. Shift into second, again the car is sideways. I let off alittle, get some traction, and floor it.
Man I love mechanical secondaries. My car lunged forward, and I kept reeling him in. We went about 1000 ft, and I blew by him. At what was about 1/4 mile, he was like 10 cars back. I don't think he let off, but he may have. The guy was at least cool about it. He pulled up next to me at another light, rolled down his window, and wiped his forehead. Gave me a thumbs up. Guy was like 40 somethin! Great feeling to think that speed addiction is still there in the middle ages.
