Carlsbad Results ???????
I wasn't able to make the Carlsbad event today, but my buddy (LS-1 guy, ran 13.2's though) shot alot of video for me. He said no one had "MW" or "Corral" or anything marked on their cars. Anyway, I would like to hear some numbers, so please post you results.

only 3 from mustangworks showed. Me, fastang, and sky...
If you go to the blue oval you will see my bonehead move (purging my ENTIRE nos bottle in my trunk) but I am sure sky will post his times as soon as he gets home. I ran (N/A) 14.6... There was a huge turnout of stangs there..more than I have ever seen. Would have done better if my juice had actually gotten into the motor! Fastang ran 14.3 I think but the track was slick as usual... [This message has been edited by ed1371 (edited 03-25-2001).] |

46stang was also there, and NO SLO PK, in his Lightening. I raced him, and I raced McRat from LS1.com
My best run of the night was against the guy from ls1.com in his 2000 SS 6spd w/ cut out and a couple intake mods and drag radials. I went 12.5@107mph Someone told me I may have pulled the front left tire slightly. 60' was 1.714. My first run on street tires was 13.8@106.8 with a 2.56 60'. It was so slippery out there. From there I ran a 12.7@107.08, 12.5@106.96, and 12.6@107.3mph. What I dont get is I ran 105.8mph last year in 100 degree weather with 100lbs heavier car and no tuneing! It had 45psi fuel pressure and 23 degree intial timing then. Today I had 16deg and 26psi fuel press. I think theres more power in the timing. I think the guy that dynoed me was stuipd. I'm obviously not making 332rwhp. Also I added a short belt from the 2nd run on. I don't think it did anything though. Skyler ------------------ -1989 Saleen Mustang #406- TFS Heads, E-303, edelbrock intake,70MM TB, 73mm MAF, off road H, 2 1/4" exhaust, and 4.10's. 332RWHP@5500 351RWTQ@3750 Runs on 87 Octane! |

Hey sky, I think it's possible that you do have that much hp. According to the stang analyzer you are right there. Your car is running almost the same times as mine. I pulled a 1.764 60ft and pulled the front tire on this run.
But my best 60ft on this combo was a 1.686 but I missed 3rd gear and screwed up the run. ------------------ James Cox nochevy@hotmail.com 1991 Mustang LX 12.565 @109.38mph 1.764 60ft |

I wish I could have gone. We've got to go again. I've got new rims on order, should be in Tuesday. Anybody looking for 15" 10 hole Mustang rims? I've got 3.
SKYMAN - I plugged your 1/4 numbers into the analyzer - based on 3200 lbs track weight (car + you) you've got 323 HP. Not too far off. |

I know you didn't get the numbers you were dreaming for, but who cares Sky? 12.5@107 is hauling *** for a N/A street driven 302!!! Not to mention you can't be complaining about you 60ft. You basically picked up a second right there over usual!
I think there may be a little more in it, and 400hp at the crank should give you better than 107, I agree with you on that. You should be in the 110's somewhere with that kind of hp. Still, I can't take anything away from the Saleen, it's running badass! |

Sky, nice times nothing to be ashamed of. Your MPH does seem low though for that much RWHP (i would have thought 110+). BTW did you beat the LS1 SS????
I'm working on my car over the winter here and will be aiming for the elusive 110+mph also. I think its time for a blower install!! ------------------ 306ci, TFS stage 3 heads. port/pol edlebrock performer intake. 77mm mass air, 70mm TB, crane 2030 cam, Mac full length headers, flowmasters 3.73 gears and more. |

ed1371 - Check your messages about those rims. I'm also selling 3 (maybe 4) 225-60R-15 Comp T/A tires too.

Yeah, the ET is definatly good. I got 22mpg on the way home going 70mph and 1 hour was stop and go traffic, so 24mpg should be easy if I didnt hit the stop and go in hollywood.
My track weight is probably around 3400lbs. The car is 3280 stock -40 for aluminum heads + 50 for subframes. -80 for race seats + 175 for me and I had a half tank of gas, so about 40 lbs for that. Puts me aroudn 3400 race weight. Yeah thats defintitely not Pomona. Pomona was cheaper and better. That track was slick as he11. I was on drag radials and did a 15 sec second gear burnout and still pulled a sh1tty 2.2 60ft. I spun hitting second on my first run too. My best of the day was a 14.41 @ 98ph. Im seriously pissed. I hit a 14.67 @ 96.7 mph when my car was totaly stock at Pomona. Something is seriously wrong because my timing is only at 9 degrees and Im detonating down the track. I spent all this money on my car and only dropped two tenths! WTF! Maybe my cam and rocker combo are too big for my stock heads and intake, or maybe it just needs some fuel mods. Can lack of fuel cause detonation? I just added longtubes and a flowmaster cat back, the rest is in my sig.

Jesse- I dunno whast wron giwth your car but its something. Are you running 1.7 rockers? that with the B-cam may be too much lift and trying to make power too high for your ehads. you know what that mean. NEW heads!! Also I think the detonation is definatly because of lack of fuel. Its the only thing I can think of, and lack of fuel can definatly cause taht. Get a fuel pressure reg, and then we gota head out to the track again.

you think you had a bad run faststang. yours looks like a top fueler compared to mine. slick wasn't the name for the track. it was like some one through a bucket of snot(crap) on the starting line. I had regular bfg street tires on my car and I couldn't even hook(MOVE). damb car only moved about 10 feet forward through 1,2 and 3rd gear. i tried to let off in 2nd and hit it again, instant redline and didn't move. finally 3rd still burning out I let off and hit it again it grabbed then butt I dropped down to like 2700 rpm. I just said f-ck it and stuck it out. I ran a bad a$$ time of 16.06 at 98mph. my 60ft was like a 2.70.awesome oh well. I ran a 14.75 at 95mph at pomona, with my old heads. so i guess the good thing is I picked up 3mph and basically started in 3rd.I had to take off so I didn't get to try any more if you go to that track take slicks. plus you need a 4 wheel drive to get into that track. I say we try out palmdale in a month or two. what do you guys think?

Lets not goto palmdale, I've been there, and its just slow as crap. I know you can convert the times, but its still disappointing to run slow.
That track was slick. But I am watching the video now and I managed to pull both front wheels!!! Im excited now.. Next time I'm going to pull the way bar! We should head out to famoso or bakersfield. Sky, What is your fuel pressure set at WOT? Just curious. Mine is now 26ish at idle and 35 at WOT. It feels a lot better than 5 psi higher.

Just want to say that Sky's car runs damn fast! When we ran together I watched him disappear into the distance as he posted another 12 second pass (and another mid 15 for my Ltng.)
Okay Sky, you beat my tow rig. But next time my LX will be ready with a TKO. Seeing how fast Sky's Saleen runs makes me want to do similar changes to my LX. Fuel mods are relatively cheap. Im going to get a new pump and regulator then get a dyno tune and head back. My timing is only set at 9 and Im still detonating. You just cant make any power with you timing at 7 degrees. If more fuel doesnt solve my problems Im gonna sell my stang an get an SVT Focus! jk Did you see the car they put me up against on my last run? It was that dragster that ran a low 8 on my *** . He was done before I hit third gear
