Finally! 13's!
Hey all...
After almost a year delay since last time I ran at the track, I finally dipped (barely) into the 13's today(see new sig). I got a decent 60' time & the cool 60 degree weather didnt hurt at all. It was my second run of the day(first one was a crummy 14.21 with 2.196 60'), then my 3rd & final run I got a 14.061 with 2.179 60' time(nice spin at the line). My MPH on the 13 was 99.46MPH. Anyway, glad to have hit it & may try again at Fun Ford March 1-2. Later! Sean |
Sean Thats great!! now just gotta work on getting it lower!! :D

we need to get sean to bradenton. I bet he could run 13.8X there! |
Mike: 1/8: 9.050 @ 79.51MPH
Steve: Yeah, would love to be able to get to the track more, but it just wont happen too often. Hope to talk the wife into letting me go to FunFord Weekend March 1-2 inOrlando as well & seee what happens then! I was really bummed about the 14.06 run with the 2.179 60' time...a 10th off tht 60' should have gotten me a 13.8X!:( Oh, well, at least I still have room for improvement with no power adders needed! Take it easy, guys! later! Sean |
:D great run dude!

Hey venumus, How are you launching? Are you lowering tire pressure at all? I need to get to track more to practice, but I have tried a few things with my 60 being a best of 2.222. A far cry from your 2.088.
If I could pull down 60's like yours, I'd be alot closer to 13's! Great job! Matt |

I only lowered my rear tires to 28psi, not much lower than I run on the street. Not a real big deal with street tires to go really low I've been told. I launch at idle(800RPM) as any higher I spin like crazy. You can try to launch at 1500-2000RPM but you really have to be able to feather the clutch & it will wear out much faster that way. I also got new tires 2 months ago & they only have a 180 treadwear(pretty soft), so that helped tremendously. My previous average 60' time was about a 2.2. I wish I could get to the track more to practice as well, but I just dont have the time with a wife & 2 kids at home! Thanks for the post! 02SS: thanks for the post & great times yourself! Steve & Mike: with my parents moving to their home in Port Charlotte soon, I will have a place to stay & have to make a trip to the track in Bradenton sometime to meet up with you guys! Probably in march sometime. Later! Sean |

I wonder if it's the same feeling when you break into the 12's? Never had to worry about trying to get into 13's, just getting out....
|
I remember my first time too:D it was actually by a closer margin (13.99@101). I was all giddy for a week.
then 12's came, and it was like no other feeling I've ever had then this year, 11's will come for sure, and I don't know how I'm gonna react. congrats on your times. Now get some slicks and do some real racing! |
I plan on coming to Bradenton on the 8th of Feb. for the ET brackets at the Outlaws...maybe I'll see some of you there!!! great times :)

i wish i would have hit the 13s earlyer this year cause i think i'm gona skip them
My best run this past season was 14.1 @ 99mph, but this season it looks like i'm gona skip over the 13s all togather as my car sees huge changes this winter. keep on creap'n down on the times buddy! cya
