First 1\4 Run
Although this was last year around october, i finally got my 88 ragtop to the strip, my first run was nasty, 15.01et @ 92mph(i think). My second run was a 14.59 @97mph(alot of tire spin off the lin) but my reaction time was a little better. It was .866 or something like that, my buddy says that with good hook up i could probably hit low 14's, any truth to that???

Judging by the MPH of your 2nd run it looks like you could show a strong run into the low 14's with a good launch and better reaction time. How was the track? Did it need a lot of prep work? Light Em Up!!!

Z28EATR, I noticed that you live in Va. Where did you go to run at? How much did it cost? I have heard Richmonds track is not that good. Most people tell me to go somewhere around Dinwighty(sp) and you can bracket race for $40. I am hoping on taking my first pass this spring after I get my control arms put on and the suspension tightened up.

Not bad for a ragtop what was your 60ft time?
If you get that down you should run low 14's. |

When my car was running a 97 mph trap speed, the E.T. was 14.17-14.20. BTW, the reaction time doesn't affect trap speed or E.T. The clock doesn't start until after you break the staging light. A slow R.T. or a red light will however cause one to lose races to a slower car.

So, what kind of Z28s do you eat ? Just kiddin. What mods you have. You guys are lucky to have any tracks around. Here, there are none even close so we just street race and judge each other by who we could beat and can't, no technical stuff. What sucks though is you usually race one guy one time and be lucky to ever see them again.

I have a 67' fastback stang with a 302 edelbrock cam intake carb...aluminum water pump, the fan has been replaced by an electric one power steering has been removed, comp cam roller tip rockers, 9.5 compression, windage tray, dynomax ceramic headers, 2.25 with 2 chamber flows, griffen aluminum radiator, a c-4 with a shift kit, 9 inch rear end with 2.73 gears, and k&n filter... and I'm wondering what type of time slips I would be looking at before I race I've been able to beat chevelles with a 396 and gt stangs...but not sure what times I would get and I am going to be adding a B&M stall converter, and was wondering how much would my e.t.'s drop if I put a 3.55 rear end it...oh yeah and the car has a full interior

Fostang, my '66 coupe with a 3.25 Traction-lock has similar mods to your car and runs 13.95-14.0/98-100 at the track. '67's may be slightly heavier, but shouldn't be much. Why don't you start a new topic asking this and you'll probably get more answers.
