Default First time to the track with "sticky" Tires, got a new best w/ Stock Cam and Heads

Just getting around to posting this, sorry...

1st run on my 255/60/15 H-Rated Street Tires:

R/T: .069
60': 2.065
330: 5.626
1/8: 8.579
MPH: 84.04
1000: 11.125
1/4: 13.268
MPH: 105.05

I then begged my friend to let me make 1 pass on his 26x10.5 M/T ET Streets, that pass was:

R/T: .128
60': 1.754
330: 5.304
1/8: 8.277
MPH: 83.04
1000: 10.838
1/4: 12.996
MPH: 104.21

Needless to say i was happy i hit my goal

Guys, one question, is the "norm" for cars with my mods?

i just put an Off Road X Pipe on today (had an off road H on at the time of run), wonder if that made a diff..

Congrats on the times! And no, that is not the norm for a car with your mods. That's way fast for a stang with stock heads & cam. I turning 12.6s & 12.7s and I have the full heads/cam/intake combo. Good job man. I'm sure the drag suspension helped with your time, but have done anything to lighten your GT?

Thanks for the comments Simi The suspension can be a little more refined.. the springs arent that great for this combo, i believe the 4-cylinder springs are too low in the front to store any sort of energy, i believe they have been cut, i got them for 20 dollars from a local wanna-be mustanger... and the rear BBK springs are too stiff.. Im almost ready to switch the springs to Moroso Trick Drag Springs and install a Wolfe Racecraft Anti-Roll Bar.. hopefully that will drop my 60' a little (i was only launching at 3k in the 12.99 pass), as for lightening, it just has a few items deleted, the fog light bar, front sway bar, rear counter weight on the rear end, and of course the all important Weld Draglite wheels... (15x3.5/15x8)

Hope that helped

I never got my notch to a 1/4 strip before the motor expired, but I ran a 8.063 @ 84mph in the 1/8th on motor with the mods in my sig.

What were your 1/8th mile times?

They're not very ported at all, Just took the exhaust bumps out.

What was your 60 foot? My car made shit for horsepower (209rwhp on a mustang dyno). It was all in the launch. 6250 launch ripped off a 1.65 60 foot.

if you scroll up and look at my original post, it has all my timeslip information, on both runs, street tires and ET Streets, with a 3k launch on ET Streets it went a 1.75.

sorry, I guess I'm going crazy, I didn't see that.

With a harder launch I think you've got some 12.70's in it.

Your 12.5 is very doable as I had an 85 notch stripped of all unnecessary weight, 92 block completely stock except for 1.72's, motorsport adjustable timing chain, mac shorty's, h-pipe, am. thunder, monroe formula gp's, eibach lowering springs ( built it for autocross) that did a 12.4 at Motorsport Nationals at Maple Grove. That was like 10 years ago on "I" patterns. Oh, 3.73 gears, 5 speed. Needless to say, one pass, no cage, the guy I sold it to never expected it to do that. Neither did I but what the heck, I needed the money.
