Exclamation Fords are reeling me in to the light!(or is it dark)

Im really thinking about getting a 97-98 Cobra or 00-01 GT as my next "new" car.

I was riding around looking for trouble, and ran into a 1994/5 GT i pulled him pretty good from the light, then when we went on it from 45mph to say 75mph it was pretty even i pulled but didnt get any lengths, he had about the same mods as me just a few bolt ons as far as i could tell it was pretty loud but most mustangs are unpredictable going by sound, it was LOUD though. So i think i had the better of him.
Then i ran a 1994/95 Black Cobra, with an SV0 badge ont he back(i saw it when he smoked me) it sounded almost exactly like the GT, i was a little more nervous becaus the fact that it was a cobra but i didnt "think" the cobra was that much more faster, i could at least hang. Well he was on my butt, the when we turned onto the main road, he shot beside me and it was on, we started at 35mph, and by the time i hit 80 he had 2 1/2 car and he stopped pulling i think around 60mph is when we evened out, i mean that snake would squate. We slowed down and rode side by side, i found out i knew the guy, he used to have a purple Z28 just like mine and we ran before, i asked what he done to his, he said it only had an Intake, Exhaust, and K&Ns an it sounded like he didnt wanna say. Then i asked if he would run me from the light to see how well i could hang, i dropped it in second, got a good launch pulled to where his nose was about a foot back from my bumper, then at 45 he reeled me in, and passed.
I think the 94-95 GTs are very under rated becaus i have a low 14 second car, and the GTs are supposed to be like low 15s-high14s, and i dotn know much about cobras i didnt think they were that much faster then GTs unless its the S351 or any of the S/Ced versions. I know im supposed to have them out torqued with more horse power, my cars rated at 250hp & 350rwt stock, then add the bolt ons, plus i have 136,000 miles on the stock 350 and tranny so it has seen better days. I like my 4th gen Zs, but im really considering a snake.

I love myGT and wouldnt trade it for anything now that its modded. Not even a new SS. My friend have camaros and I have driven all of them but just like the way this car feels. The 94-95 Cobras are awesome cars too. You can make a GT of the same year keep up or beat them with a few mods, so if you have trouble finding one a GT should suffice. I should be hitting mid 13s right now on street tires with the stock intake, heads and cat back. Gotta love the 5.0, it responds remarkably well to mods, plus if you by a 94-95 Cobra you will have to change their $hitty cpu. Good luck and I hope you join us.

Go for the Cobra. Are you trading Your Z28 or keeping it? It'd be cool if you could have both. You don't see a whole lot of real pristine 91 Z28's around and I imagine it would be hard to let it go.

I say go for which ever you think makes you the happiest. I know a guy that just got a 00 supercharged S-281 god that car is sweet "this coming from a Z28 owner" I would love to buy one just a little too much for me now. I saw some used 94-95 Saleen S-551s for $27-29k maybe in a year if I save my money good I could get one of those.

mustangs are nice cars, they just aren't my thing. whatever you do keep the z, like someone mentioned before you don't see many nice third gens anymore. besides a dealer wouldn't give much for a trade anyway.
