Unhappy Give it to me straight

Ok, so I have my 1999 Cobra that I couldn't be happier with. God I love this car! But anway. My older brother (flying jets in the airforce somewhere) is driving his 2002 Firebird transam to see me. He says it has a Hurst shifter and Viper tranny. It is some special 1 out of 2000 firebirds or something. I know Firebirds are heavy, but those have the vette engine in them, just tuned a little differently.

Do I have a chance with a stock Cobra?

Will I kill him when I get the Cobra blown?

He has always been faster.... need to beat him once in my life.

He have a viper tranny. They come with 6-speeds, and the Hurst shifter is optional.

Hell yes, you will SMOKE him if you have a blower.

You will smoke him with a blower but it will be close stock. Trans Am's are low 13 second 1/4 stock. But if you can drive and he cant then you will win.

Good Luck!!

Just make sure it's not one of the special models for this last year of production for the trans am that have 385hp. I read about them somewhere.

I actually think it might be. He is sooooo proud of it. Says something about special edition and costs more than usual trans ams.

How much time/money do you have? Throw some 4.30's, an xpipe, and some drag radials on that badboy and show him your taillights!

Honesty, STOCK, I think you are in trouble. I don't see how a 99 Cobra could take a Firebird.

A blower will really wake up you car. But then again so will a set of gears, drag radials, exhaust, etc.

Gears, drag radials, and a set of springs to get rid of your wheelhop and you'll be a high 12 second car. Get some 4.10's or 4.30's for that Cobra, then dust him. I'd seriously recommend getting different axles if you want to go for a S/C. The Cobra is an 11sec machine when blown.

I bet he has the WS6. Find out the model for sure.
