Going to race supercharged Integra....

There is a guy with an integra that knows a friend of mine that is talking lots of crap about my car saying mustangs are slow yadda yadda. I found out he is getting a jackson supercharger put on his car right now and it should be ready by next week. I don't think he has much but the sc and exhaust, he is saying it will run 11's... I know it won't do 11's but what do you guys think it will do? I know I probably dont stand a chance but I really want to shut this guy up! If he spins a lot and I hook up ok is there a remote chance I could pull it off or should I not even try? To help matters out my car doesn't seem to be running very good, I got beat by a crx the other nite(Although I think he was spraying I was pulling him just messing around in traffic and then when we hit a light he pulled HARD in 2nd and 3rd although I got him off the line) .

depends. you might be able to take him. FWD's aren't the greatest things for traction, y'know....if he doesn't know how to launch PERFECTLY, his race is FUBAR'd

Due to the traction limitations that PGKelly mentioned, the Integra probably couldn't run better than mid-13s unless he adds more mods on top of the blower.

I raced a supercharged integra and he ran a 14.6 to my 14.7. I still beat him cause I smoked him on the RT. I had a .6 sumtin to his 1. sumthin. Even though I had more cylinders it was still a blast and was problably my funnest race.

if you're interested I can dig up the timeslip on that race.

Depends how much boost hes running and what other mods he has.

The Integra bottom end can't take much past 10psi with out doing modifications. I believe that kit is 6psi stock with the option for a 8psi pulley.

Bet on him running 8psi, and not knowing how to drive it.

These cars go mid to high 15's stock at around 89mph.

I bet he will go low 14's (if he can hook and knows how to launch a FWD car) at around 98mph.

Stanger: do you remember the mph he ran?

I'm pretty sure he's not running more than 8psi... he just got the kit put on monday... we should run this weekend hopefully. He said he's got nittos, and i'm on regular street tires so I might ask for the go or a car or something bc of that..... he says if I beat him he's gonna put it back in the shop and get a 30 shot to cool down the intake.....

stanger8172 03-27-2002 01:24 AM

He trapped at 96.77 with a 2.3 60'.

I wish I could tell you if he had dr's or radials but I didn't talk to them(he had a passenger with him when he raced me).

Good Luck!

Thats a low 14 at 6psi, high 13 sec car at 8psi and bolt on's, maybe mid 13's with every single bolt on and serious traction. My friend has a JRSC'd Integra and he has shown his tail lights to a fair number of stock 5.0/V8 cars. But you are not stock.
The fact that he says it will run 11's shows alot about what kind of person he is. He probably is not going to know how to launch, and will probably smoke them through 1st. I am going to assume that he will run the 6psi pulley since he just got the kit on. It should be close as hell, and I give the win to the car that spins the least.

Hmm.. ok I'm gonna try to find somone with some slicks I can borrow for the run....oughta make it pretty close.

Oh and how much do you guys think a shortbelt would help and how do you figure out how long a belt you need to buy? I really want to beat this guy....

Here's a short-belt diagram that i have saved on my computer for such occasions as these (well.....and of course for myself)

stanger8172 03-28-2002 12:58 AM

For this race especially, how much timing will you have? 13-15 initial will really help if you have 8-10 from the factory. Bumping up your timing is pretty easy and shouldn't cost much.

Also, yanking the front passenger seat saved me a tenth (I didn't do it when I raced the Integra though) A 15mm wrench/socket is all that takes.

What do you want to bypass with a short belt? Just the a.c or everything you can? I have March water pump, and crank pulleys set # 2010 with no smog and deleted a.c. with Dayco poly cog belt #5060730.

Have fun!

Hey man thx for the diagram i'll definatly have to get one.... on a side note the guy says his car is still in the shop and he won't get it back till next week.... guess the race is postponed until then... i'll let u guys know who wins.
