Exclamation GSX gets humiliated

Wow, I have been getting a LOT of races lately. Im bound to hit a drought soon. Anyways, Im driving home from work and Im not even paying attention when a GSX Eclipse busts a fly by for no apparent reason. To my luck we round a turn and hit a light. I downshift to the stop so he can hear me and I even rev him up just so he knows Im ready to kick his a$$ but he wont look at me. This is a GSX so Im preparing for a nasty AWD launch here, I figure he's going to pull a car and Im going to have to play catch up, but when the light turned green he just sat there. So I ease it out slowly waiting for this super launch and he just follows like he doesnt want any. I figure he's a puss, but as SOON as I shifted to second he revs up a little, drops the clutch and hits it. Im at like 2500rpm here and when by the time I hit 4500 he was a full car behind. I shifted early into 3rd and walked him another car. He trys to bust another fly by but I stomped him again only worse. I slow down for a truck and he makes an illegal left turn from the right lane to get away from me. Oh I also had about 200 lbs of exh parts and controll arms weighing me down lol

I had a similar encounter. At a light I lined up with a I-Roc Z28, the older ones, and I revved a few times and he wouldnt look over. I guessed he didn't want to race. I then told my friend, who was trying to get the guys attention, "Im gonna be pist if he takes off on me!" at low and behold when the light turned green he took off as if I knew we were racing. When I caught up he had put on some sunglasses and tried to look cool as if he had just raced a fair race. I followed him to get a real shot but he drove like a grandma the rest of the way!

Speaking of freaky **** happening, Last month I was sitting at a stop light when I saw some guy in a fox making a right turn. This guy sees me look at his car and straight busts the E brake in the middle of one of the busiest streets around here and completely runs over the center divider! I mean he had to have realy phucked his car up on that one. Then he gets in my lane behind me but makes a left later instead of chasing me down or something 90dpscoupe thats an amazing time for the mods! Is your car an auto or a stick? Eclipse people usualy piss me off too, most seem to think that they're driving 10 second supras or something

thnx....No i have a t-5, but the rear gears came out of a aod vert, yes it is a good time, but they had a "big dog shootout" tonight, and they sprayed the whole 1320 with vht track bite, and my car was hooking awesome i was shifting 2nd hard as i could without powershifting, im pretty happy with this time, although my mph was only 97.20 on that run, i was hoping for 99-100,

im gonna get a shorter belt for next time (to bypass powersteering and smog) and hope for a 13.7 @ 100mph.

Thats good, real good. How in the hell did you only hit a 97 mph and still get a 13? I hit 97mph when I ran 14.40's and 96 mph when I ran a 14.67 stock.

Well i guess i could blame the stock headers, or cats, or a number of things, mainly im quick from the line, plus i think i was shifting to 4th to early, but i dunno, i just know im happy

oh advanced ignition probaly kills top end too??

I dont think that advanced ign affects top end. Are those tires like drag radials or something? That would totaly explain it. I so wish I had a set of those.

Hell you took a gsx from a light, yours (tires) are good enough, but no these tires are small ss20's firehawks, i had 25lbs of pressure in them, which might slow me down on top, but like i said in my post, they had the track sprayed with track bite, and big ole 8 and 9 second cars were burning the crap outta their tires, leaving me a good area of stickyness, but yea they felt like dragradials, but my car is light too.

my car bogged off the line, then felt like i was twisting the front end up, im thinking i need a safety loop, cuz i hear the d/s hit on a hard shift sometimes. Sorry im ramblin but im excited

He was rolling about 10mph in first, as soon as he saw me hit second he reved it up and did a little launch while rolling. He knew that I was way out of my powerband...that bastard.

As far as mph goes last time I was at the track my buddy and I ran our cars he has a 89' Corvette and I have a 98' T/A. his only mods are: custom built exhaust with a X pipe and 2 chamber Flowmasters, screen removed from MAF meter, TPIS air foil, 160 thermostat, spare & jack removed and a 2500 stall converter out of a 85' Vette with 252 gears!! he ran a 13.2 @ 98+ mph ? strange!! his 60ft was a 1.80 and his 1/8 was 8.4 ! my pass was a 13.1 @ 106.49 and he beat my 60 ft & 1/8 mile, my 60ft was a 1.996 and my 1/8 was a 8.59 @ 84.71 !! but I see this all the time its torque-vs-hp. I had him by almost 8 mph in the 1/8 mile but he was ahead of me by well over a tenth...so 13.9 @ 97+ sounds about right, find a cold dry day and see your ET drop and your mph go up.

I have hit 98mph before, but it was on a 14.4 run, 2.2 60' when i spun off the line.

Moisture build up on your roof is always a sign of high humidity so that's where you lost your mph and probably a few hundreths or so on your ET. I noticed that you ran a 8.8 in the 1/8 mile thats some pretty good bottom end! especially with the few mods that you have.

Thanx ls1jay, i know everyone tells me my car is set up good for low end, (which a stock intake and cam) are good for, i have heard of guys with dragradials running an 1/8th like mine in stangs, even with 373 grs.

I actualy beat another turbocharged car last night coming home from dinner. A 300zxTT. I dont know what he had done but the turbos were LOUD and it had a HUGE chrome dual exh system, real expensive. It was also dropped on 18"chrome. I barely beat him though. The first time was from a roll and he was at my rear bumper the whole time. Then I stopped to chat and we ran again from a stop but I beat him worse then, and I still have all this extra weight in my car plus my girl. Does anyone know for SURE what they run stock?

stock 300ztt, should do 13.8-14.0 @ around 102-105, i've raced one that went 13.4 @ 109, but he had a upgraded intake and injectors. Your car probaly good for 13.5 or better if it ran like that, what was the top speed? because these cars pull hard on the top, i actually beat one, until the 1000ft mark like i've said before
