Default Here comes Chevy... 383 vs 302...

Well I got the big race against the 440 coming up this week, but now my friend turns up with a new car!

He wont stop talking ****! Endless, running his mouth. Im gonna spank you, blah blah blah.

Heres what he has.
1969 Camaro
383 Stroker
Trick Flow Heads
~.530 lift cam
10.5:1 compression
3.73 gears
Built Turbo 350 w/ 3.73's out back
850 Speed Deamon Carb
Vic Jr Intake
MSD Ignition
Full Exhaust.

He doesnt care if I use the spray or anything, hes so confident. So traction will be to my advantage on slicks, and this Chevy REALLY needs to go down. I'll be racing him this week to and definatly taping it.

I was thinking about have the 383 vs the 440 and then just racing the winner?

Damn sky sounds like your getting a lot of action agaisnt your stang. It sucks that many people at my school are chevy boys but owell. Two of the biggest sh*t talkers got beat by a 96 stang GT auto stock LOL. One guy has a '69 el camino with a 350 that he claims has a lot of head work and a good cam and he has longtubes full exhuast bla bla. The other guy has a '68 chevelle with a 307 stroker but he spun a bearing in it after only having it for like two months Now he got a 350 and claims 450 horses i dont know what he has done besides a victor intake and holley carb. Good luck. I think you should have the 383 and the 440 race then you should race the winner.

His combo sounds alot like my 383 set-up. I'm running a little bigger cam, and some different parts. He's running a pretty big carb though......probaly unnecessary. He could be an 11 second car, and then add nitrous and it's a 10 second car. Do you know if he is spraying? Or what kind of stall he is running?

Trick flows, victor jr. 850 carb, make for a potent combo, especially on a stroker, but your mustang should give anything on the street a nail biting run.......ah you can get em!!

It sounds like a good race. Spray 150 and walk him. You'll be trapping 118-120 withe 150 jets. An all motor 383 Camaro could be anywhere from 108 mph to 115 if it is a normal street car.

hey Skyler,

Just the fact that he's running his mouth and he's so sure he'll get you, tells me he has NO idea of how fast his car is. That's what I usually see with trash talkers.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see it run in the 13s. My advice, spray the crap out of him and get him by 20 car lengths

Thanks for the info guys. I am definatly going to spray him on slicks. And he is only currently running 255 DR's.

Its a 3000 rpm stall, what kind, I dont know. The car sounds really good. So we will see if it really is all its supposed to be. I figure it to trap upwards of 115.

So do I.. Anyone confident enough to let you run nitrous w/out care is either very tricky or very dumb.

Spray his azz and humiliate him.

You should get him with a 150 shot and slicks unless he shows up with slicks and is hidding n2o somewhere. My car lost pretty bad against a 383 with slicks in FL. My car was on street tires too. Traction was a big problem. I hope you get him SKY! Sky, did you get to view th video I sent ya yet?

Yeah you'll lose hp with an auto., but with the right stall and set-up you'll be running the same E.T. or faster. Get a Tremec, big stall'd auto's aren't as fun as 5-speeds, and big stalls aren't real cool driving everyday.

What I say you should do, is get the two (440 vs. 383) to run, and then the winner races you, this way, if you spray big, there is a 50% less chance of you breaking something.

I hope all goes well with the race.

Good Luck

I'll second that.

I wish I had gone with a tremec instead of the c4 and 3400 stall, it sucks on the street. With 3.55 gears I am turning around 3200 rpm's at 60 mph.

Bri- Ill have to find a Kmart then, I dont think we have walmart around here..?

Well my cousin raced the 383. And he won by about 1.5-2 cars. The owner of the 383 says that he burned em all the way till 3rd and thats why he lost though. So I dont know.

My cousins car is a 68 stang w/ a 302 that goes high 13's.
