How lopsided should it be before we don't race?
Yesterday in Houston, I came upon a BMW 328 CI that was goosing it down Braeswood Blvd. Admittedly, I was cruising, looking for the race that I had not had in a while.
We came to a light side by side. I was hoping it was going to be a "M" BMW, but indeed it was not. I thought "Oh well, not really gonna be a race". When the light turns green, he nails it laying a small amount of rubber. Reflexively, after he had gained about 2 lengths, I nailed it too. I came blasting by him as I hit 2nd gear and was immediately 2-3 lengths ahead. I shut down to about 40 and he came slowly up along side. I think he was being friendly so I just waved at him (Limo tint so I couldn't really see him). The question I have is, should I have even gone to the trouble? The outcome was a "no brainer", at least to me. Was the risk of a ticket worth it for a sure kill? My instincts just sort of took over when he layed a little rubber. What do you guys think? Rev

I'll tell you over and over that it isn't worth it, but put me in that situation, and 99 times out of 100, i'd do the same thing. Someone takes off on me, I'll chase em down every time!! Force of habit.

I can control myself 100 percent.Would you believe it..The light turns and he takes off (Gets ahead of me driving normally) You know you can get in alot of trouble doing that.LET ME SHOW THIS TURKEY WHO'S BOSS. Merc Tachs it up, feathers the clutch out Quickly, spins a little, hooks and goes..Blowing by the 87 Hyndaui Excel.
Damn Right..I showed that guy who's the boss...Next Light...Whats this..The old man in the Cadalliac looked at me..I'll show him. Okay, all joking aside, the underlined, and italisized text is probably what I would actually do. I know I know..I'm a jerk. But its fun, and gives me an excuse to accerlerate.

sometimes i do, sometimes i dont. it depends on the mood i'm in. sometimes i'll run it up to 40 or 50 then shut down, if its a worthless race.

Killa, this was pretty much a "worthless race". I had just been hoping that this was gonna be an "M" Beemer that would have been a good race. It wasn't an "M", and it wasn't any race at all.
