Hey Inferno, I just read your signature. I think the hope that your car will be a supercharged stang contender when you add your turbo and other goodies is a bit of a reach.
I've run supercharged Mustangs; two of'em to be exact. The Saleen and I were a dead heat. The '88 pulled away from me. I'm not bashin' your car, but a supercharged Mustang is a big bite to swallow. |

A friend of mine in high school had an V6 supra (mid 80's). Cool little car...for about 6 months. He was showing off by trying to do a burnout and the tranny went *BOOM* This was a completely stock Supra. So, just from my limited experience, it doesn't appear that the tranny can hold a whole lot of power?

srv1 Do a little more research and you will see that the mk2 diff isn't as weak as you would think. I'm not saying mine has held that power yet, but it will soon. The only major problem with the diff, is that around 300whp, the lsd's(clutch type from the factory) don't really handle it. That is an easy fix though....several companies make gear type or upgraded clutch lsd's for the diff in the mk2. The 4.30 came stock in p-type mk2's in the states...extremely rare like you said, but they are out there. I am going to be switching to the 3.27 after I am finished with my motor build....won't have much use for the 4.30's with boost. 302 LX Eric Your friend having his I6 supra's tranny blow isn't the norm. My transmission can handle over 300hp in stock form, but that is about the limit. All I have to do to be able to handle 600+hp is switch to the input shaft for a 93+ supra 5 speed and switch to the 93+ synchros. Ackbar00 If you were in So Cal, we could test that theory of yours...but since you aren't, we can't.

Oh, and 20LbsBoost, I'm sure that I won't beat many sc'd stangs until I do a little internal work...but that is all on the way.
As for your comment slow98, the only possible no show in this situation wouldn't be on my end. Doesn't really matter though. I plan on going whether he backs out or not. Need to get some time slips for my car.

inferno
inferno....the comment wasnt directed to either of you, but we all know sh1t happens, thats life...didnt intend for it to sound that way...whats ur engin rated at the flywheel? ever have any issues with traction?ive never seen a supra that old in action, not putting ur car down but ive just never seen one run....one more thing, give us some ideas of some cars that u have raced that run similiar to yours...maybe that will give us somthin better to build our assumptions on
peace

My my, how things have been progressing on the MW. I've got a mailbox full of suggestions here, get a NOS shot, install gears, find a blower, etc etc.
While I do have 3.55's in the closet, they are going in sometime after the race. My lack of funds, time, and the fact we are running because my car is stock, all go against the "minor improvments" that have been suggested. I'll be down there, rain or shine. I've been offline studying for the CPA exam, which I took today, so I thought I would read up on the developments in this thread. I look forward to beating, oops meating you in person Inferno. Skyman, PKRWUD, Kamaro Killer, NO SLO PK, any of y'all care to join us? There was a killer turn out at the track last weekend (just went to watch) and I expect there to be about the same this weekend.

It's been raining all night, and still currently. Yahoo shows it raining in the morning tomorrow and being cloudy but dry down there all next week. Friggen dirt road will be closed for a while I'd guess. I had my buddy with the WRX all talked into going with us too.

I'll race ya Inferno
I finally got a damn car again. My car is s/c'd but I have never been to a track to run a car. I am planning on running against Mike (The Deuce) so if you still want to race him, he'll be there. Just keep in mind, this is all for fun, no ill feelings involved or nothing like that. (not that I think you'd have any ill feelings, lol) Let me know, Keith

I don't know if i'm going to be able to make it. I have some "special" plans for this upcoming weekend since I am still in So Cal.....I'll see if I can make a little different arrangement, but no way in hell I'm passing this girl up for a day at the track.
