Thumbs up Just got an awesome race w/ a white '91 GT convertible (1-20-01, 11:30 pm)

I just got home and I'm real tired, but I gotta tell you guys this, then I'll go to bed.

Details
My friend w/ '92 Z28 and I just got finished cruising and I start toying w/ this GT, but he doesn't want to play. But when my friend w/ the Z28 gets up next to him, everytime, the GT will play around with him. So I'm thinking, he must be a punk if he's gonna just bully the Camaro. Anyway, we all just happen to leave the cruising scene at the same time and turns out we all live kinda close to each other b/c we go the same directions (for at least 15 min). On the way home, I try once or twice more to get this guy to run me but he won't so I let off and he stays beside me so we just end up cruising homeward beside each other on the two-laned hwy (Z28 following).

Skip details & get on w/ the story
Z28 has to turn to go down the road to go home and as soon as he turns off, the GT (total change in attitude) gets up beside me and I know for sure he wants to run me now. So I'm thinking, "It must be a family thing. That's cool. I can respect that."
At about 55mph, I shift into 2nd (C4) and rpm hits about 3400. He hits it a split second before I do, but I start to creep past him until his front bumper is at my door and now I have to shift (5500rpm). When I shift, what's this?? he starts creeping until his front bumper gets about 1 foot past mine and then, wait a minute, he's gonna have to shift too (manual). When he does, I slowly reel in the foot and start to leave him and I can see that it's over, I am victorious . (Worried me there for a sec) I let my car get up to where his front bumper is at my door and then shut down. He has to turn right at about 500 feet so he gets in the long turning lane (not really an exit) rolls down his window and waves to me a few times and I flash him and honk horn a few times.
This was a NICE race. Never had anyone run me THAT close before (His car really surprised me). That should've been on camera. AWESOME.

I can't apologize for length of this post. I gotta give details and draw you into the story.

Good kill and great race!

Georgia weather is probably just a bit warmer than it is here in C-Bus.

Sounds like a few run-ins I've had with a few 'Maros. Hey, a good car is a good car, right?
