Post Ran a 94-96 t/a (detonation)

Sad thing is, i was pulling on him in 2nd gear, when i heard the dreaded (pinging) i had to shut it down, traffic was coming up anyways, i guess a loss for me, he sounded like he had borlas.

I know this is a (windsor power) topic more or less, but i hadnt had a problem with pinging on 87 octane until today, weather was warmer today, and i didnt trust the gas quality at this particular store, i put in some octane boost, and some premium, and cleared the problem mostly.

now no one wants to run .

That's why. When you advance your timing you are also promoting the possibility of detonation. So you probably need to either run higher octane gas or back off the timing a little in order to run more consistantly.

Try re-gapping your plugs. I forget what the stock recommendation is, but .54 sounds about right, try a little higher, like .55 or .56. Or just back off the timming, whatever. Hope you're running better soon.

Damn that sucks! There are a few gas places around here with suspciously low gas prices that I try to avoid for the same reason, however with the high price of gas it is very tempting....
