Default Killed a Charger

Got to race a '66 or '67 Charger on Saturday. I was sitting at a red light waiting to go into a tunnel underpass that is a favorite spot of mine for making a little noise when a tan Charger pulls up next to me. I'm not sure what motor the car had - sounded like a pretty stock big block with mufflers. It looked pretty clean and had some meaty street tires on the back. He had his windows down so I revved him for the hell of it. He revved back after a while and I could hear him put it in gear and get the revs up for the changing light, so I knew it was on. The light turned green and we both attacked instantly. I slipped the clutch perfectly off the line from about 3K and we were dead even across the intersection. As soon as I let the clutch out all the way I jumped several cars on him. My car was screaming through the entrance to the tunnel when I shifted into 2nd. Got a momentary wiggle as the tires fought with the pavement, but hooked up good and was pulling hard on him. I had about 6 cars by 60mph and shut it down after just getting into 3rd.
He pulled up at the next red light and all he said was 'That sounded awesome' and gave me a wave. Didn't get a chance to ask him about his car.
