Killed a Cobra Today
The Cobra was a 00 black. We cruised close to each other and I didn't think he wanted to play. All of a sudden, he downshifts out of nowhere and passes me so I knew it was on.
We came up to a good stretch of road for a race and we went at it with him in front two cars. This was easy. I passeded by him relatively quick in 3rd and put 3 cars or so on him and we just shut it down. I thought these things were faster than my stock Toyota Solara (Cats reamed out, aftermarket shifter). I can't explain it, but I just had to tell some Stang guys. |

My guess is that he wasn't racing. The '99 Cobra was the first year of the new body style, there was no '00, now again there is a '01. Both the 99,01's run mid/high 13's off the floor, and they are both much stronger than that with 320hp on the hiway. They don't have very good gearing so it holds them back out of the hole. |

Were you guy's there? How would you know the true story, if you werent there. I've seen 2MFF's solara run, IT RUNS HARD. There are a whole bunch of variables involed in racing, which I'm sure you guys know. 2MFF is an excellent driver and can make a normal car almost, immortal, "I CANT EXPLAIN IT, HIS CAR IS A FREAK".

I'm telling you man, this Solara is a freak of nature! It spanks european sports cars (mini coopers) and I even saw him smoke a japanese motorcycle (a friends moped!!!) For real! it's a bad mochine!!! But it's amazing, when he lets a friend drive it it runs 15s all day, but he hits mid 12s with it! He's radioactive, see? that's how it works. He uses some kind of plasma propulsion system that's mounted up his *** , it's called his fat head.

I beat this 4.6 pretty easily and have taken other 4.6's in similar fashion, especially the Cobra's. I think this race really begun at his door which would have given me a 3 car win but if we would have kept into it in 4rth, I would have opened that up by another couple of cars easy. We all know there are many variations on how these 4.6's perform. I respect them all but downplay my win for you, no way..
I have raced two well modded 4.6's and the races were much closer. The point is my car is no joke in this kind of race and it ain't bad from a stop either. The fastest one was a couple of weeks ago. I had a 301rwhp Stang by three cars to 90 from a 5mph roll. I don't bullshit and I don't dream. I just tell it like it happened bro. |

I have heard. Reminds me of last night on the way home a 86-89 accord lx with some nasty ground effects comes up next to us on the wet street and revs. My husband and I just looked over at it, like, what the F*** was that? It just amazed me that some one who drives that could think they could touch my car. I know it could not, that was my first car, a 87 Accord. Oh..I see now, it's OK too make wild claims when you are driving a "Cobra" (ooooh 4.6 liters of spookiness), but not OK when you drive anything else. I read all these "kill" stories where the Cobra kills it's equally powered rival by ridiculous lengths and you all get giddy and wet all over each other. But when someone claims to beat a Cobra you all jump all over them with every excuse imaginable. I kill'd it, and kill'd it good.
As for getting the year wrong, I apologize. I should have realized Ford recalled them because they lied about the rated horsepower and got called on it. Hey, maybe the BS Cobra owners on here worked for Ford. It was either a V6 automatic stang with cobra badges, or it was not racing you, and was in fact laughing at you because you were trying to race a COBRA in a SOLARA! I dont believe you even have a Solara, I really just think you are a troll, but if you do have one, and beat something resembling a cobra, then more power to you. You can take your choice:

LizardKing - Yes I OWN 4 cars and a truck, AND have a company car (negotiated in my contract because I did not want to put alot of miles on my own car - I have a 40mi each way drive). I have done some exhaust mods and changed the shifter. Don't worry, your 13.6 Stang is safe up there in CanaDUH.

Not true. A Cobra is nothing more than a mildly hopped up version of the regular Stang. (before the rest of you start getting antsy hear me out.) As far as 1/4 mi times, a regular stang can easily attain the same numbers as the cobra with some well chosen mods. Just go away and dream about actually owning a mustang ok? Its true that anything can happen on the streets, so maybe it happened...just please agree that equal drivers, no stock Solara will beat a Stock Cobra. Second, there is no chance you got that big of a "freak" from the factory. You are down like 130hp, and both cars are comparable in weight. Anyway, lets move on. 2MFF, you have to be one of the biggest liars I have seen in a long time. I think the only thing moving fast out of your Solara was the crack out of the pipe. Stop puffing and driving. It's not safe. Also stop puffing and typing. It's not smart. You might also want to think about changing careers and becoming a fiction writer. From a stop to maybe 20 mph, it could happen. While you are already rolling at a decent rate of speed, check yourself into the nearest clinic. Next time share this story with mustang owners at the track(if you ever go to one) and don't feel bad if they laugh or walk away.

We have members on this board from all over the country. It's not a problem to find someone to meet up with this guy so he can show us this "freak of a car".

2MFF I try to keep a very open mind but your story is BS my friend. I have been with this site for over 2 years now. If someone comes in here claiming their stock Cobra beat a Z-28 by 12 car lengths you can bet they would be called on it.
